  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Throughout my life I've found it very difficult to relax sometimes. I'm curious as to what y'all do in order to relax. What has and/or hasn't worked for you?

Also included is a poll: Do you find yourself thinking most often about the past, future or the present?

Thanks!

I hear you, relaxing is a bit hard for someone like me who would relax the best when being in the arms of a boyfriend (better as husband)
But I do relax when I listen bible or read it. When I talk to God. Summer time when I just sit outside and watch bees and flowers I have, drinking and eating something good. Also I enjoy walking outside in a pouring rain especially when it's very dark, that is like super relaxing for me. I relax when I play some videogame which doesn't take much effort. Listening music and just be.

I put on “Ripple” by the Grateful Dead, and wear my jammies. And drink some coffee. That’s pretty relaxing. I also love sitting in the backyard, and going for walks.

More focus on the future for me, too.

Riding my bike. It's the most relaxing thing I can do. I also spend some time in my hammoc. I like to ride my bike somewhere and string it up and take a nap. It's an Eagle Nest Outfitter's hammock that is lightweight and packs down to the size of a softball. The swaying motion is very soothing.

Alcohol occasionally relaxes me. Besides that.. sleep. I am almost always in some sort of state of stress/mania. The idea of being in any other condition frightens me.

That’s sad, MehGuy. Do you ever get out for walks? Would that help?

My social anxiety generally makes that an unfun experience.
Yeah, I get kind of freaked out when I run into people out on walks, too. I have similar social anxiety issues, I think. I try to go out early in the morning, that usually minimizes accidental run-ins with other people.

I really hate the morning.

While it's bad.. it's nothing compared to how I was several years ago. The stress and anxiety was over the top and pretty much almost made me an unfunctional human being.

I hear you. I was a wreck in high school. It’s better now, but what helps me is actually just ignoring everyone until I have a face to face interaction with one person; like a teller or cashier. Until then, no eye contact. No staring, no talking.

Im not morning person at all. I mean to me it is completely insane that some people happily wake up 6 or something.

Thinking,

All three in no special order.

Relaxing, reckon when I am doing something that I like doing.

then there is no tension,
good if one has a job of work doing what one likes doing.
