How do you read your Bible?

When I was younger (in my 30's) I used to read and study a lot, but once my eyes started to go I had trouble maintaining focus. It was just a struggle to read. Recently I started listening to the Bible being read to me via my smart phone (using a program called YouVersion), and it has been very helpful. I listen on the way to work and on the way home. I'm finding that I take in a lot more information this way.

No, it's not serious study, but I'm grateful to be getting a daily dose again.

Bible.is has an app for apple products (android as well) which offers audio of the whole bible in several formats (ESV, KJV, etc.).

I use it a lot.

You can also download the texts as mp3/4 data files for listening offline.

Looks like it can be downloaded to run on a computer as well.

I have that but it crashes my phone. I'm thinking about uninstalling :/

I've had all of the phases mentioned in the OP and then some over the last 33 years. My relationship with the Word of God is not too unlike a marriage. There were times I studied every line in her face. I hung on every word. As the years and decades grow, so does my knowledge of her, my appreciation for her and my devotion to her.

As with any love affair, the bulk of the relationship happens when we're not physically together. I tend to ruminate upon the Word more than I graze upon it these days. God brings up into remembrance His living word, and I chew on it. I call it my daily bread.

Like a seasoned marriage, I'm pretty much up on the big story now, but there's always something new to keep me passionate. Semper Reformanda.
