  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I tend to hit my knees in the morning offering up the Lord's Prayer, whatever issues or individuals need prayer and the Apostle's Creed. Throughout the day, I pray and praise as necessary and at night, I reflect on the day's bad and good, offering praise, and begging forgiveness and help to be a better servant and acknowledging total trust in His plan for my life. :crosseo:
And yes, I cross myself when I wake and before I go to sleep, without the head covering. ;)

I try no to do the "gimme" prayers too much and I thank God no matter "what" has happened and praise Him endlessly. Whether it's good or bad. "In Jesus' name"
I generally do the same. I also pray throughout the day as well. I also tend to pray for forgiveness on the way home. I simply can't have a day without repentance.

I pray throughout the day. I pray the Word of God out loud. I don't do this all the time but I try to frequently. God spoke the world into existence so I believe His Word is very powerful and as the scripture says, His Word will not return void. I also pray in my personal prayer language.

When I got aquainted with Lutheran rosary "Pearls of Life"(wreath of Christ) it has changed my praying; nowadays I do not have so many words and praying is often just being in silence in front of God
What are the Pearls of Life prayers?

I haven't crossed myself for sometime..since my dad's the deacon we are often at church really late. Sometimes I walk into the sanctuary, cross myself, kneel in front of the lighted cross, and pray.

------

I try to pray alot, as God commands us to "pray continuously"..I try not to use generic prayers, and I try to not only focus on the daily bread aspect (ever notice how there's only one petition focused on the physical and what we "need"?). I often pray for my family..namely my uncle/aunt and their kids, specifically their new baby Elizabeth. I pray for my church alot too..it is going through some pretty rough times.

I pray for myself a lot too..I've been feeling really disconnected from God recently..and I've been falling away a lot more than I ought. (Not reading the Bible enough..and more recently not praying enough either)..

I also have this other "thorn" I pray about, that I don't feel comfortable disclosing..

But that's just a bare-bone's description..it's hard to explain your spiritual relation with the Almighty on an internet forum!! :)

Watch Luther as soon as you can since you've not yet seen it. It may likely renew your faith in the power and wonder of God's grace and the gift od His salvation.
