How do you know if you are predestined for hell?

Well first of all you have to decide if you believe in predestination.
You probably know that it is more than a little controversial.
But as JohnChapter14 has said, the conditions for salvation are clearly laid out in the Bible.
If it's not too presumtious of me, I'll assume you (b1ohazard, just to make clear) are familiar with them.

God knows who will be saved, who will go to hell. That does not mean that He has pre-determined which of us will be saved.

Salvation is entirely up to each of us. We, individually, are responsible for our own salvation.

God gave us a choice, along with the freedom to make that choice. If we choose Christ, we spend eternity with Him. If we choose the other path it leads us to eternal damnation.

Simple.

The fact that God knows who will be saved does not mean that He makes the decision. We make the decision, He just knows what that decision will be before we make it.

Topic (You may assume, for this discussion, that hell exists).
Hell or heaven is your choice, my friend.

IT'S VERY SIMPLE:

1. Jesus has paid the full price for your sin so that you may be forgiven of it ALL - and go to be with God for all eternity by accepting Jesus and His sacrifice for you.

2. Failure to do this means that you have chosen hell's horrific punishment instead. Anyone allowing that to happen to themselves is way, way beyond foolish! Please don't let it happen to you!

NOTE: Whether you believe in God or hell doesn't stop them existing. Make no mistake about it: THEY ARE REAL!!!

All the very best!

Assuming one believes in predestination which I don't. Everybody has the choice to choose their own beliefs, I don't believe its decided for them by fate or the universe or anything like that.
Anybody can be saved. So it is the individual's choice if they end up in hell or not.

Well with all due respect, you argument fails.
If God know beforehand, then he has 'programmed' us. Your sentence is self-contradicting.

Another point. God may know who is saved, but how can any individual be sure. I mean, for example, that I could do all the things I'm supposed to in order to be saved, but only God truly knows if I am actually saved. I could simply be fooling myself.

Finally, and similar to my first point, if God knows who will go to hell, then he has predestined some to hell. This clearly contradicts the Bible in John 3:16, which uses the word whosoever.
Calvinism is perhaps the most ungodly, non-biblical invention since Roman Catholicism. Either we can all be saved, or god does not love us all. No loving god would deny any human the choice.[/quote]

No, that is competely broken logic. You are also concentrating on salvation. My topic is not really about salvation, it is about predetermined damnation. There is a huge difference.
Look, if god created us and god knows what decision we will make, then he has put that decision in us. You are arguing against free will, which makes me think you are a Calvinist.
Sadly, I don't think you can see the logical problems you have with your own position.

Amen to that :)

(BTW, I'm working on my choice)

Dear b1ohazard.
I am a Calvinist.
Please do not engage in attacking the Bible, as that is what you are doing. If you want to discuss Calvin, then why not set up a new thread just for that purpose?

And to answer a question you put.
Only the saved go to Heaven. Everyone else goes to Hell. Plain and simple.

The fact that God knows what choice you will make is not predestination!
If I offer my son an apple or a chocolate bar, I know which he will choose!! However, I am in no way influencing his decision. (If I could, the result would be different!!)

You really don't understand, do you.
It's not about influencing the decision. The decision has already been made by god.
God KNOWS!! He has already DECIDED who gets saved and who doesn't.
It is entirely possible that I could go through life believing myself saved, and then have god say "Sorry pal, you aren't one of the elect after all. So sorry you have wasted your life thinking you were. Now off to the fires with you."
Either we have free will, or god is evil.

b1ohazard, please listen to me. You salvation or damnation is your choice and your alone. You have a free-will. You must use that free-will. Sadly, there are many people who have completely misunderstood the Bible and it's message for salvation for all who call on the name of Jesus. These forums are full of wolves in sheeps clothing. The Devil will do anything to trick you and get your soul. Teaching that some cannot be saved (Calvinism) has sent millions of souls to Hell. I pray that you will not be one more.
God has not decided who goes to hell. That decision is one for man and man alone.
Do you want to be saved? Then I strongly recommend leaving these forums and talking to someone local to you. You simply cannot trust anyone here (and yes that obviously apllies to me as well).
Also, read your Bible! I can't stress that enough.

And I will heed your advice about the people on these forums.

Forgive me if I was unhelpful. I did not mean to trivialise your questioning in any way.

But God has not predestined anyone to hell!!
He loves you!
Please ignore anything else I have posted if it does not help you - but believe this - God wants you to be saved!!

As I understand it, the Bible teaches both predestination and free will. The verses that support both teachings are very clear. Are they in contradiction? Apparently. But, God is not limited as we are. He can work easily even in apparent contradiction. This is what it means to be omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent -- a state that is far beyond our capacity to grasp.

The Bible teaches very clearly that one can know, for sure, that they are saved before they meet their Maker face to face. (1 Jn. 5:10-13)
The Bible does warn, though, that there will those who will be surprised by God's rejection of them at the Final Judgment. (Matt. 7:21-23) Seems its really important to be absolutely sure you are saved according to the mandate of the Scriptures and not according to some religious tradition or practice, or because you were a "good person" while you lived. Christ said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man comes unto the Father but by me." (Jn. 14:6)

Peace to you.
