Reading the Bible online?

I did that tonight because I have a pretty nasty cut on my finger and holding a book is uncomfortable.

Is it different in any way? I don't think so, except maybe reading from a book is a bit more reverent to some people.

What do you think?

I use the Net to study the Bible all the time.

The best sites I have found are

biblegateway.com

blueletterbible.org

biblecc.com

I still have my study Bible and use it as well.

Love it!
People who like to write in their Bibles might criticize doing anything else, but online Bible studies allow you to start writing documents while you're thinking, check cross-references, look up maps of places... it can be a very thorough and effective experience.
You can also listen to it on biblegateway.com.
Thanks for that reminder -- I wanted to send someone an audio link last week and couldn't remember where I'd seen that.

Audio is nice too, especially if you tend to doze or get distracted when you read. It covers ground faster and helps give more of a bird's eye view of stories.

Every mode has its pros and cons. When I listen to too much audio, I start feeling like the faith is someone else's (that man with the voice). But with so many ways of taking in scriptures, it's easy to switch if something isn't working for you.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I read both in a physical bible. (many different versions)
I also read in my computer program from among the 80 different translations.
It is what we do with what we read that is important.
Since I have read the entire bible thousands of times and can read it when called in just under 12 hours, I read the bible many ways and for many reasons. I however also pray over the bible and study it for hours and days and months until the revelation from the Holy Spirit gives me the answers I need.

If you have the time and money I suggest you get bibleworks version 8 computer program. You will be able to study and learn so much more than by just reading.

Gods blessings and I hope you continue to seek the truth.
