norswede, my honest answer is that I blame such youtube videos on people who have leanings towards paranoid personality disorder.

As Jane said, the human mind excels at pattern detection, and will see patterns even when there aren't any real causal links between elements of the pattern. The paranoid person tends to have such a strong need to reject ambiguity and to find order in what they see (most likely due to fear of hidden dangers and a desire for self-protection), that there is a risk that they will lower their standards for what counts as evidence of causality.

I've known paranoid people, and some of them are dear in my life, so I have experience with this personality trait.

You do realize you just described satan's own basic strategy, right?

Anyway, I very recently encountered my first "twoofer." I'm not scared of anything on 2 legs and very little on 4, but this concept was a frightening experience for me. I have to think anyone buying into the idea our Gov't staged the whole thing has no idea how involved the infrastructure beneath the WTC was. I mean it's one thing to say the subway system connecting NYC used that location as it's hub, but to anyone that's both been there and used the full geographical extent of it?

If you really want to believe it was a conspiracy, it makes infinitely more sense that the plane that went down in a field, inspiring Neil Young's "Let's Roll," and even the one that crashed into the Pentagon, would've been the extent of it. That would've been enough to accomplish the sinister purposes behind the conspiracy, with NO NEED to topple the WTC.

If one wants to look for patterns, consider AQ's stated objectives, and compare those to the repeated attacks on WTC. They line up perfectly, both as a practical matter and for the symbolism and psychological impact.

Much may have been agreeable but not fully convinced 9/11 was an inside job yet.
As for appealing for people to react, there are many ways to "drug" people into a kind passivism. Back in the days of Rome, one way was entertainment, Collusium and such, sport. Another would be putting the spotlight on something small and trivial and making it into something enormous, just to draw peoples attention away from what is really going on.
