It depends what on what you are lusting after. Lust is a normal human attribute, and is something that forms part of who we are. This lust is normal and great if it is between two married persons, or even two singles, as long as they not engage in sexual activity outside of marriage.

If you are lusting afternoon porn, then that is a different matter. So what are you lusting after?

The bible says FLEE from lust because you can't fight it. So run as far away from it and as fast as you can.

And if you keep reading the bible, listening to Christian messages, or good Christian music, or listen to audio bible, and keep listening... constantly. That can replace the lustful thoughts. You got to be diligent though. It's difficult. Don't forget to ask the Lord to help you.

It will be an uphill battle but little by little everyday the fight becomes easier and easier. Until eventually... victory!

That sounds like becoming a hermit and not healthy at all.

Might as well just join a monastery.

I more or less agree with you. Though I question God's concern for a piece of paper.

A question for serious and mature christians only:

How do you deal with lust?
What are some things you can do or take that reduce lust?
Are there any specific prayers that you use or techniques to reduce lust for others?
Is surgery or hormonal replacement therapy a good idea to help combat lust?
Should I talk to my doctor about this and see what they say?

Any tips or advice on how to deal with lust or to reduce or remove it is welcomed.

I find the presence of God removes from me lustful desires.

Also, I have learned the painful way that shameful lusts will open me up to getting burned in shame.

"Is surgery or hormonal replacement therapy a good idea to help combat lust?

"

Unless your doctor is God, I think that is the wrong path.

Just seek God. Realize whatever you are trying, feebly, to find in lust you really want something far better. Fasting helps. But, seeking hard is the main thing, as all things are from God.

(UNfortunately, including the desire to seek.)
