How can you learn to dance if you don't take those first tentative steps. You'll spin and fall on your face so many times, but he is faithful to put you back on your feet. You'll leap in the air and come down in a terribly painful split, but he is faithful to comfort, heal, and put you back on your feet. One day, in the world (but not of the world) your dance will amaze and enthrall and others will want to learn.....you now know how to teach. You'll never be able to teach what you have not learned by experience because to teach you also need something called "empathy."
Just as an aside:
We have things available to us today that Abraham, Moses, Paul didn't have - CDs, books, and most importantly, the Bible. (Yes, by Paul's day, the Tanakh was written, but it wasn't available to the average person. Usually only one scroll per "book" was available to the average synagogue but they were not in people's homes as personal property - too expensive, too bulky. Can you imagine Paul carrying around 30+ scrolls?)
Where do genuine seekers go to find a safe place to learn? To find a community that follows all of Heavenly father's teachings, laws, requirements. That does not add to or take away from Heavenly father's teachings, laws, requirements.
Is there one community that clearly follows all of these teachings, laws, requirements?
How should try to live our lives in the way of the Messiah. (my question is this way does it include the 613 commandment from the old testament, plus all of the messiah words and then his disciples afterwards?)
I ask for help to find guidance as I have not attended any community in over 10 years.

If you know the recent history of Israel since 1948, you would know that they did fight and won.. read up on the six day war... majoring in history helps.Back in the early 1990's I noticed Rabbi Jesus/Yehoshua's question to the Pharisees...."is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good, or to do evil, to save life or to kill?" I had just read the Catholic Bible for the first time and concluded that his question was at least partly based on the situation faced by the Machabees where Greco - Syrian armies were attacking Jews on the Sabbath.
I tend to think that Rabbi Jesus/Yehoshua was teaching that it is indeed OK for a Messianic Jew or Messianic Gentile to become either a police officer or soldier and do their best to protect their friends and family and nation and people they are responsible for even on the Sabbath?!
By protect I mean even to the point of using extreme force if necessary.....even to the point of taking lives in the event of.....for example seeing your nation invaded on Yom Kippur?????!!!!
My point is that I feel called into the political realm and in order to accomplish something in that world I am unlikely to become extremely worried about fellowshipping only with the best of the best of the best of the very very best....to the virtual exclusion of all others!!!!!!!

To derail for a moment: Is there a reason why you feel it is necessary to explain in every single post, in every single use of "rabbi jesus..." just who this is that you are referring to? If so, why don't you just use whichever name you prefer. Here in this particular forum, we refer to him as Yeshua - that was/is His given name, given to him by his heavenly Father.
Referring to him as "rabbi jesus" is just weird.....

Their lives are ended by an injection of potassium chloride directly into their heart that incidentally are beating at 120 - 160 beats per minute even before they sense danger.

We are to avoid walking in the sinful ways of the world, but not necessarily withdraw physically from the world to live in a Messianic monastery. How else are we supposed to witness to the world, if we are not among the heathen?
Unfortunately all translations have flaws. No translation can completely transfer the complete meaning of the words in the original languages.Please check out this great this great book on the various bibles around! "New Age Bible Versions" by Gail A. Riplinger this book will give you great enlightenment on how incomplete and inaccurate the NIV is!
