• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

how do we know what thoughts are ocd. also how do we know we are forgiven for doubt. doubt is bad. it shows no trust. i am scared. are there any boards more active than this one. i need answers.

This board is a whole lot more active than some other ones I've seen. :) Listen, God is not going to punish you for your OCD thoughts. They don't call OCD the 'doubting disease' for nothin'. You question everything some days. That's the way it goes.

I have something for you to consider. The next time you worry whether or not you're saved think about the thief that died on the cross beside Jesus. The thief that simply believed in a man that he had likely never met before. The thief that probably had never seen the inside of a church and the thief that largely had thrown his whole life away and was saved at the last minute - and Jesus made that promise to him.

Your salvation is secure! You've got to believe that. Make the choice to believe that. Sure you may have OCD doubts about that or maybe you'll have non-OCD doubts about that. Does it really matter what kind of 'doubts' they are? The fact is that if you place your faith in Jesus and acknowledge your sin then you are saved. That is it. That is all.

As I have mentioned before, you need to continually ask God for his grace in your every-day life in dealing with OCD. He will help you. He is with you, far closer then you think, even when you can't feel him. OCD is hard. But, God has promised he won't give us more then we can bear. Just do your best and leave the rest up to God.
