How do we follow Jesus?
What is faith?
Reasonable response.Faith is not as much as the act of believing as seen in a verb, but rather, it's more of what we believe as seen in a noun, something we possess.
Is that your final answer? We believe Jesus so we make His faith, what He taught, our faith.
Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
K4c, you're caught in action continuing your "his faith" flow, by dragging Paul's teaching about how faith come to believer by simply hearing the word of God. What should we make of the parable of the seed that is sewn on different ground? The words of Jesus express His faith. When we hear or read His word it produces the same faith within us.
Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
K4c now you're using scripture out of context to support your commentary. In Rom 1:16,17Paul is saying...In the Gospel I'm preaching to you, the righteousness of God is revealed to each persons level of faith. (faith to faith)The words of Jesus reveal the righteousness of God which is shared with His followers of which we walk by.
Romans 1:17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith.''
Now you're want to mix faith with the law by your continuing to take text out of context. It's these words of faith that bring salvation when we obey them.
Hebrews 5:9 After Jesus was made perfect, he became the Source of eternal salvation for everyone who will obey him.
John 10:27-28 "My sheep hear My voice (words), and I know them, and they follow (obey) Me. "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
Jesus came to magnify and bring honor to the Law, not do away with it.
Isaiah 42:1 "Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.
Isaiah 42:21 The Lord is well pleased for His righteousness' sake; He will magnify the law and make it honorable.
Matthew 19:17 So Jesus said to him...."if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.''
Cribstyl; Reasonable response.
Is that your final answer?
What do you understand from all these texts that seem to hightlight individual faith? (click NKJV(54)

Gal 3:2This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Gal 3:5He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, [doeth he it] by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Galatians 3 addresses the book of the law, which includes the entire 613 mitzvot the children of Israel were bound to - including the ten commandments. Galatians 4 addresses the covenant from Sinai, which was the ten commandments itself. Naturally, Galatians also addresses circumcision, as the law doesn't permit any man who isn't circumcised to observe the High Sabbath (Exodus 12:48). The law is a comprehensive legal package that Galatians deals with in its entirety. These Galatian verses are referring to the law of circumcision, not the Ten Commandments.
Please note that His commandments, recorded by this same author, didn't include circumcision or the sabbath.John 14:15-17 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever, "even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
Yes, it's true that ths scripture conveys the seed is the word of God....."NOT" the faith of Jesus. The seed is the word of God, which is the faith of Jesus Christ.
Luke 8:11 "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
Obviously you have an agenda to confuse the basic questions of thread; What is faith and How we're to follow Jesus? These Galatian verses are referring to the law of circumcision, not the Ten Commandments.

Maybe you should tell us why Jesus(God) needs to have faith in things He knew about and had power over before comming to earth as a man?
The context proves that the text is not speaking about the faith of Jesus but rather the faith of people with no root, or those by the wayside, or those whom the devil is able to snatch the word from..... K4c, you're making stuff up.
Luk 8:11¶Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
Luk 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
Luk 8:13 They on the rock [are they], which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
Luk 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of [this] life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
Luk 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep [it], and bring forth fruit with patience.
We should be striving for an honest heart and good ground...So stop handling the word of God as if your comments are the truth.

After thinking about this for a little while, I find the best example found in Abraham's account recorded in Romans 4:How do we follow Jesus?
What is faith?
That a good example of true faith ..........After thinking about this for a little while, I find the best example found in Abraham's account recorded in Romans 4:
20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,
21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
22 And therefore it was accounted to him for righteousness.

Abraham's faith consisted of being fully convinced in the words he heard from God, which were contained within God's promise.
I agree.Abraham's faith consisted of being fully convinced in the words he heard from God, which were contained within God's promise.
Galatians 4 addresses the covenant from Sinai, and you will not find circumcision originating at Sinai at all. The distinction you make does not offer a defense where your point has been refuted.God makes a distinction between circumcision and the Ten Commandments.
1 Corinthians 7:19 Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is what matters.
Jesus took away the ten commandments by His own Hand, as Hebrews 10:9 testifies. Shall I bring out the chair allegory again, that helps to clarify the meaning of Hebrews 8?Jesus never did away with the Ten Commandments, but rather, He always magnified them by brining relationship to them, rather than, ritualism. Remember, the New Covenant is rooted in the words of Jesus.
What is the purpose of showing me an affirmation of the law during the tenure of the first covenant? The new covenant did not yet exist when Jesus issued these words. Jesus also stated in Matthew 5:20 "unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven". The scribes and Pharisees were the ones most capable of compliance with the law, far better than you are able to, and their form of righteousness by the law is deemed a failure by God. Yet their zealousness for the law is legendary. Paul wrote Romand 10:1-4 to describe them:Here we have religious man exchanging the Ten Commandment with man's commandments.
Matthew 15:1-9 Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying, "Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.'' But He answered and said to them, "Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? "For God commanded, saying, `Honor your father and your mother'; and, `He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.' "But you say, `Whoever says to his father or mother, "Whatever profit you might have received from me has been dedicated to the temple'' 'is released from honoring his father or mother.' "Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. "Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying: `These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' ''
Encouraging someone to obey their parents by appealing to the law isn't done if the children were already compliant with that law. They're as disobedient as everyone else. Here we have Paul quoting the fifth commandment word for word. Now keep in mind, this was years after Jesus.
Ephesians 6:1-3 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother,'' which is the first commandment with promise: "that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.''
My ears aren't as deaf as you imagine.I can go on and on but I'm sure it will fall on deaf ears.
