I was glad to read why this forum exists and hope you will not mind me asking the following questions.

I have been a Christian several years but am going through a time of change. I need some encouragement and would be grateful of your help and prayers.

I have a very active mind which keeps going round and round therefore find it very difficult to focus on Jesus and also taking every thougt captive and make obedient to Christ.

Thank you very much

Been said that whatever you feed the most will be strongest...so nourish your spirit...feast on the Word, pour out your heart in prayer, take time to praise Jesus in song, seek out Christian fellowship, and do service. Since your mind is overactive, could show that you trusting more in yourself than in God and that you need to be more Divinely purposeful, if you aren't already. Could also reveal your worrying about something or many issues.

Here be food for thought and spirit...:D

Luke 10:38-42 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, He came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to Him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what He said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to Him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!" "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

Romans 8:5-6 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Philippians 4:6-9 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

Colossians 3:1-2 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

James 3:17-18 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.

How can we keep our minds centered on God?
It seems so natural for our thoughts to drift toward the evil tendacies of our carnal heart.
