Universalism is not a doctrine of the PCUSA, but if you want to talk any more about the doctirne of a particular denomination, why not go to the appropriate denominational forum and ask there or post a message there asking for input.

Getting back to the OP, ISTM Blazin thinks his friend, who is Presbyterian, needs to be saved and he wants to witness to her. He replied to one post, acknowledging that he needs to ask her some questions, since he may misunderstand what she actually believes and her actual spiritual state.

We all have certain misconceptions about other denominations. We all have misconceptions derived from our own denominational backgrounds. We all have "blind spots," many of which can be remedied by learning how other Christians view the same questions.

Let's not jump to conclusions about exactly what's wrong with Blazin's friend's beliefs, and whether they have anything whatsoever to do with her being Presbyterian. Blazin needs to ask her to clarify and stop speculating about what she believes. The rest of us have no business speculating even further and criticizing (perhaps unfairly) other denominations.

End of rant.
If she truly does not think her friend/ his friend, is saved, then I think that asking that friend a few questions would be a great idea. Questions such as "what does it mean to be saved", "how do you know you are saved", "is Jesus lord and savior of your life and is your complete trust in Him and Him alone for your salvation", "do your get works get you into heaven or does your faith in Jesus alone get you there", "is water baptism a requirement for salvation or is faith in the Lord Jesus alone the requirement for salvation". In my personal opinion, these would be good questions to ask the friend to see where exactly the friends trust lies and if she/he understands what true salvation is.

God Bless,
Frankie

That would be the Calvinist forum, for Presbyterians--which would make the question redundant.

The red flag is not Blazin's friend's denomination but that fact that she claims to have been saved from birth. That is unusual.

I've heard it from other Presbyterians in the Semper Reformanda forum.

Read what you can about a program called "Evangelism Explosion", print it out for her to read and then tell her it was a Presbytrian minister who started it. As she reads through the material, God's plan forSalvation will be made clear - at least it is there in black and white - and it is Bible based teaching. You don't have to say a word. Let one of her Ordained Clergy do it for you.
