  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Please help!! We have an orange and tangerine tree on the side of our 2 story house. The bottom exterior is brick, the top is wood. Every year when the cold front comes in, the squirrels climb the trees, chew a hole in the wood and get between floors. This year they chewd the dsl cable and we couldn't get internet access till we figured out that's what happened.

Anyway, I don't want to chop the trees down. We've patched the holes and in them put pointy things (I'm a female, don't know how to describe what my husband did! LOL), but the squirrels just find a new spot to chew.

I used to think they were cute, now I view them as furry rodents. A few years ago, one got in the house and terrorized my daughters for a week! Looking back, it's pretty funny.

HELP!!

I knew someone who used a bb gun, but that's probably not what you're looking for. What kind of squirrels are these? The ones around here still run around outside in 10 degree weather. I'm sure if you contacted your local conservation department they could reccomend something safe for everyone/thing involved that would lower your chances of being invaded. Wish I could be more help.

Great ideas. I hadn't thought of those. I live between Galveston and Houston Texas and we finally had a bit of a cold front. Don't know if that's why they chewed their way in again or if they think they're getting ready for the winter. They look like your regular brown squirrel.

But it really is getting annoying to keep patching up holes......
