At conversion - Cornelius friends? - Acts 10:1 "There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius... 2 - "A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway. v24 "...And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends." 44While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.45And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God."

After conversion -Acts 19: 1-7 “…Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7And all the men were about twelve.”

Before conversion?

Question? Was Saul a believer before the filling of the Holy Spirit on the road to Damascus.

NRS Acts 9:17 So Ananias went and entered the house. He laid his hands on Saul1 and said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on your way here, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit." (Act 9:17 NRS)

Were all the people Peter was preaching to believers?

NRS Acts 10:44 While Peter was still speaking, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who heard the word. (Act 10:44 NRS)

NRS Acts 10:46 for they heard them speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter said, (Act 10:46 NRS)

NRS Acts 10:47 "Can anyone withhold the water for baptizing these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?" (Act 10:47 NRS)

NRS Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them just as it had upon us at the beginning.
(Act 11:15 NRS)

NRS Acts 11:16 And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said, 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' (Act 11:16 NRS)

We must allow God to give the blessing of the Holy Spirit when and as He will.

NRS Hebrews 2:4 while God added his testimony by signs and wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, distributed according to his will.
(Heb 2:4 NRS)

This may not satisfy you but I personally also have witnessed the filling of the Holy Spirit on both believers and non-believers.

Agree that Yahweh can move when, how, and on whom He desires. We don't know what's in people's hearts nor at what point they believe on Him but He does.

refilling - Peter for example:

Acts 2:4 "And they (Peter was present) were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."

Acts 4:8 "Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,"

Acts 4:31 "And when they (Peter was in this group) had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness."

Some will not consider this refilling.

Finally thought of Scripture that says before... John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit prior to birth. Yahweh can do anything He wants.

Please don't ask me to explain it to match my theology though. (smile).

just wondering how i get baptised in the holy spirit

I have to be careful here as I do not want to "flame" anyone.
I used to worship in the Assemblies of God. I even had "Christian Worker Papers" with them.

It has been MY EXPERIENCE that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is made more difficult in Pentecostal congregations than it actually is.

My suggestion: live your life for Christ Jesus, your Savior and Lord of your life. Love God first and foremost and love everyone else before you love yourself. Ask God to give you unconditional love for Him and unconditional love for your fellow mankind. If you do this, and pursue these, the Holy Spirit will come to you in a BIG way. Do not search so hard for Him, let Him come to you.

Be blessed,

I disagree. By asking for this "second infilling", which is never taught in scripture, not only are you denying God's Word, but you're essentially telling God that the Holy Spirit and the Word of God isn't good enough for you.

And if "any believer" was an apostle, you might have a point. But these girfts ceased with the last of the apostles and with the completion of the canon.

John, you by your profile are a Calvinist. Please realize brother that "Christsavedme" is a Pentecostal. You are from a different doctrine than most Pentecostals. Because of this, you sow confusion in presenting Calvinist doctrine to a young Pentecostal Christian.

Please, do not misunderstand me here. I am not flaming you, or disagreeing with you, or fighting with you. I am merely pointing out doctrinal differences between your background and "Christsavedme".
Those doctrinal differences are not going to be ironed out here, especially since the moderators on the forums here do not allow divisive discussions.

I am not a Charismatic, nor a Pentecostal. I am a Wesleyan doctine Christian that seeks peace in the Body of Christ.
