I want to evangelize and spread the gospel without forcing Christianity on people.
Everyone has free will so unless you are a dictator in a communist style country you really can't force something on someone - like belief.

There is always a time and place for it, and you will know it when that transpires. If you are constantly bringing it up at every moment you can get, it will turn people off. I found that the most effective way is to share it when the discussion naturally allows for it. I've seen people that I have excessively shared the gospel with completely mock it at every turn I make, while those I share briefly at the right moment bring it up as an afterthought for an action they have done. "Hey, remember when you talked about your faith, this thing really got me thinking more about it, could you tell me a little bit more about what you believe?"

Let your actions and the way you treat people speak the loudest, and as Jonaitis mentioned, talk about your faith when the natural flow of a conversation presents an opportunity. I promise, if your way with people is Christ-like, they will wonder and, perhaps, inquire as to why you are the way you are. :)
