Whoa Br. Max; show this guy some mercy!

Hi follower2, and welcome to the forum!

I don't have sufficient posts to allow me to post a link in this message but if you email or PM me, I'll send you the link to christiananswers. There is an article there that should help you.

Or do a google for "where did the races come from" and look for an entry for christiananswers dot net. It's not an uncommon question.

Blessings,

Tim

Back in college I took a year of genetics. One of our studies was how various skin colors came about. To make a long complex and boring story short, there is a single genome sequence that Adam and Eve could have had regarding their skin color that would allow for all the skin colors we have today.

It is my own personal belief that when God confounded the people at the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11: 1-9), he also changed the genetic structure and made the people appear different as well as change the language.

Of course I can't prove this, and it could be just so much babel.

different races? What like elves and dwarves? Or do you buy into the myth that different skin color makes for different races?

What he said. From the little I remember of my college anthropology class, there is not enough variation in humans for us technically to be classified into differnet races. It's definitely a miss-nomer.

All the other races (except Adam) were created on the 6th day, God rested on the 7th day and because they were all hunters and fishers God still didn't have a man to till the soil (a farmer) and on the 8th day God "Formed" "The particular man Adam (eth-ha adam--with the article and particle) from whom eventually came Abraham from which eventually came the 12 tribes of Israel.

Cain took a wife from the 6th day creation who had been on the earth several hundred years before "The Man Adam" was formed and placed in the Garden of Eden.

(Note: Remember that a day with God is a thousand years, so the 6th day creation was inhabiting the earth for many hundreds of years before "The Man Adam" who was "Formed on the 8th day.)

God pronounced all the races "Good" but the Adamic race was to fulfill a special purpose, namely the seedline from which Christ would come AND to be a model to the other races who had been taught to worship the sun, moon, stars, birds, animals and creeping things (that is to worship the creation rather than the CREATOR by Satan)

But the first Adam Failed, he was of the Earth (earthy)while the Last Adam (Christ) did not fail, He is from Heaven. (Heavenly)

Israel was to be a "Special" people and tho Israel has failed also, (they became like the others) God has used them as examples to fulfill His plan and caused them to fulfill His purposes even tho unbenounced to their knowledge all thru out history.

Only the Israel peoples had access to God and to the Temple untill Christ came and made it possible for the "Whosoever will may come."

The only mention of other races and nations in the Bible is in their relationship to Israel.

The story the Bible tells is of the Adamic race and then from Abraham to the end of the book is the story of "One mans Family"--Abrahams.

All who are "In Christ" are a New Creation (a New Race)

In response to the OP: micro evolution via genetic drift, random mutation, all with a little natural selection thrown in the process.

Are you are using a substandard definition of race? Here is the one that most of us go by (including the dictionary):
  1. A local geographic or global human population distinguished as a more or less distinct group by genetically transmitted physical characteristics.
  2. A group of people united or classified together on the basis of common history, nationality, or geographic distribution: the German race.
  3. A genealogical line; a lineage.
  4. Humans considered as a group.
  5. Biology.
    1. An interbreeding, usually geographically isolated population of organisms differing from other populations of the same species in the frequency of hereditary traits. A race that has been given formal taxonomic recognition is known as a subspecies.
    2. A breed or strain, as of domestic animals.
  6. A distinguishing or characteristic quality, such as the flavor of a wine.
No mater what definition you are using, I think is pretty clear the OP meant definition #1. His question could probably be phrased more exactly along these lines: Why do humans who share the common ancestry of Adam and Eve have differing phenotypes if humans didn’t evolve?

Edit:

This article has issues. I don’t see why people are so dead set against the standard scientific explanation. Very few Christians who have any idea what they are talking about deny micro evolution.

the bible only mentions one race, the human race. It talks about "nations" or nationalities and "tongues".

Wrong!! Think again: The Bible cover to cover is the story of the Adamic Race, in fact after Abrahams appearance on the scene in Genesis it is the story of ONE MANS FAMILY--Abrahams--whose offspring became the 12 tribes of Israel.

The only mention of other races and/or nations in the Bible is in their relationship to Israel.

Only Israel had access to God or to the Temple UNTILL Christ came, the veil was rent, and made it possible for the "Whosoever will may come."

The notion that different skin colors are significat enough differences to make people different breeds of human being is beyond silly. It's based on faulty and bigoted science.
This post and subsequent ones are strawmen. No one said anything about there being different breeds, or certain races being better than others. If you say there aren’t races you are either ignorant or using a different definition of race than the rest of us. Or, are you going to tell me there aren’t regional physical characteristics between the humans? The OP asked how these regional characteristics came about.
