i am 30 weeks now, first pregnancy. i am getting a bit nervous about labour, when its going to happen etc, i don't feel that prepared yet, im going to pack my hospital bag in the next couple of weeks and get a car seat to take the baby home in. my bump is starting to get a bit more uncomfy to walk with and bending over and sleeping is harder. and im excited about meeting the baby and nervous about how to cope with visitors when tired and emotional when the baby is born. we are gong to have a lot of work getting done in the house over the next few weeks which makes me nervous too.... what if i come early? lots of things going through my head! but God knows all these things. i want to get a freezer and make some frozen dishes for the first few weeks and get everything ready. and get some thankyou notes, stuff like that. ooh its gettng exciting. is anyone else at this stage of preparing for the babies arrival, what are you doing and how are you feeling?
also did you have to buy a lot of new clothes after delivery as i can't imagine finding my pre pregnancy clothes to fit or be comfortable xx

Well, I've only got a little more than a week to go, but the last trimester has been good, bad, in between for me. LOL

My advice, don't let yourself get stressed out. Don't focus on any one aspect for too long. For example, don't spend hours upon hours thinking about labor. It will probably only freak you out more. Go ahead and buy a carseat and get it installed in your car, somewhere before 35-36 weeks to be prepared (you could always have someone install it while you're at the hospital, but I like to know ahead of time that it's in right and ready to go)

I didn't pack any hospital bags until just this week. I still don't have them all packed, but I have lists of things to be thrown in last minute. I figure that I will need something to do while I'm in early labor and waiting to go to the hospital.

As for visitors after the baby.... it's totally your call. If you're not up to visitors, you don't need to have any visitors. Most people will respect that and understand that you need R&R and so does the baby.

Anyways, 10 weeks is a short/long amount of time. You have plenty of time to get the house baby ready! Congratulations! :)

Well, I'm almost on week 37, so just a couple more weeks for me too.
I put together my hospital bag...last week, I think.
We're putting together the crib today.
The nursery is still a disorganized mess, and the car seat hasn't been installed yet.

However, I'm not too worried.
We have the car seat, and we have a bassinet, if she comes early. :)

What I tend to do is make a list! Write down everything you'd like to have done before d-day, then look at a calender and pick days in which to get them done. :)
It'll help you feel more organized and prepared.

Best of luck!

hey girls, how exciting for you both, so near the end. congratulations to you too! i think a list is a very good idea, especially since my brain seems to have gone down the shoot at the minute! i am forgetting everything. i love lists. (its just finding them after ive written them....)
i have good news mum has a pram from someone who has given it to us, and it has a baby carrier in it which will do for the car seat. im so pleased. :) yeah it seems to be that its all happening very fast now. i know i stil have ten weeks to go but time seems to be going to fast with still so many things to think about. not panicking is the key i think. i have a midwife visit next week which im really looking forward to. xx
