Simple, Robban is what is most what people call me,

that will say after we have exchanged a few words.

Pretty informal really.

If avatar means the picture up to the left, it is because a lighthouse is........well a lighthouse.

Edit,
Lighthouse for me is the "Word"

passing Ushant lighthouse at night is something to write home about.

A powerful beam sweeping round and lighting up everything in it's path.

I was on a forum a few years ago, Ships nostalgia think it was called, but I stopped being there.

It was ok but it started to awaken a bitterness from within, thinking back on the happy days.

Great people though.

I love this thread Bradskii! Great idea.
My name is Brian. In the 80s I drank much beer and perfected my alcoholism. We called it brew-haha because laughter usually ensued. Then someone dubbed me Brihaha since I could obviously drink more and longer than anyone else. I just celebrated 26 years of sobriety from alcohol and one reason why is because I never forget my past. I use the reminders, like my username, to keep me motivated in my sobriety.
The avatar I picked shortly after trump was elected is the cover of a Pink Floyd album, the Division Bell. It seems to perfectly summarize the divisiveness in America today. One of my favorite songs on the album is called Coming Back to Life. It describes hitting rock bottom in one's life but finding the strength to persevere and overcome one's obstacles. I feel like America still has a chance of coming back to life yet.

Ophiolites are slices of oceanic crust abducted onto and 'welded' into continental crust by the action of plate tectonics. A focus of my interest in geology was basalt, and most basalts on the planet are generated at the mid-ocean ridges, which thereby create the oceanic crust. So, Ophiolite was a natural choice. (At one time I was active on many forums, being an administrator, resident expert, or moderator on at least six, and on some I used other related petrological user names.)

The avatar is a photograph of a field exposure of an ophiolite (with the traditional geological hammer for scale). I am reasonably sure this is of the small ophiolite wedge exposed in the Girvan area (S.W. Scotland) that I mapped a portion of as part of my undergraduate studies. If so, it was formed when Avalonia (a micro-continent, which included southern Britain and Ireland) collided with Laurentia (Northern Britain, North America) in the Palaeozoic.

Moved to London when I was 22. Had to crank the accent back so that people could understand me. 'S'orright n'eh' became 'It's quite nice, isn't it'. Been in Australia for 32 years, so now it's 'Bloody rippa, ay?' Although the accent heads back to the valleys after a few beers. My wife still sounds like a Penclawdd cockle woman.
Excellent, I have a friend that I was in school with, who lives out there, he’s not long got married out there he really likes it, I’ve never been, but seeing the Aussies on tv ect they seem to have a good sense of humour, it’s a place I’d like to visit one day .

Cool! I recall staying in Inchnadamph Scotland and the area was crawling with geologists.

Congratulations on the 26 years. Seriously well done. The Division Bell is not one I've listened to. Up to now. It's playing on my 'phones as I type this. Quintissentially Gilmour. What a sound that man makes!

Thank you very much. I appreciate that.
I agree, the quintessential Gilmour creates quite a unique sound. My daughter bought me Floyd's Endless River dvds and it is nearly all instrumental. Only one song has words, it's called Louder than words. I love some music.

My forum name is my name. I sometimes wonder if that was a good idea, but I'll leave it at that.

I'm not very photogenic, so I went looking for an avatar that had a bit of humour in it.

I do like coffee. Only trouble is that between getting older and Cappuccinos in particular, an hour later I'm desperately searching for relief, if you know what I mean.

When I had a driving job, this could be a close run thing at times.

Landon means (land-on)
Caeli means (the heavens) in Latin.

...So it essentially means "go to heaven".

Mine is a play on the song, "All England's Eyes" by the band Magnum, which also has the verse "Old England's skies" within it, so its a blend of those lyrics. Back in a time when I would blast this song out loud and drink massive quantities of beer. The beer drinking has long gone, but the name stuck around.

The Avatar is a Mallard duck, not much to add to that really.

My name is a combination of two things. Clizby is from a character in the Psych episode 100 clues. Psych is our favorite show we watch as a family. Wampuscat comes from a time when my girls were younger and they asked what a wampuscat was. I told them we will go camping and we will hunt one down. So we went camping and had a great time hunting wampuscats. They eventually figured out there were no wampuscats but we had a lot of fun hiking through the woods together.

I have been called hard headed so a reversal of head trauma to desk trauma as it would be the one suffering the damage were I to pound my head against it in frustration.

The flag avatar I am using is the US flag with the state star sizes based off of population size and placed roughly geographically. Here's a larger easier to see version:

Well I like to change my artist name sometimes, and now it is aerielmoon. Those names seem to come to me out of nowhere, I just think what would describe me the best.
Same way here I wanted name which would represent me as a christian. I was thinking light. So sun was the one because it is greater light than moon (I see moon more like mystery and sunshine more revealing) It is something to do with goal of being like Jesus, loving all people no matter what they do or not do. Being the light of this world.
Always speak the truth.

And I like number 7. My birthday is 7th and it is my ”luckynumber” even im not person who believes in luck so much... 7 means perfection to me. It is something I still try to achieve even I try to let go and be happy for less...

Picture is well, it has many meanings.
I like mysterious pictures very much.
It is picture of me.

When I first joined Christian Forums in 2010 I chose the name CryptoLutheran. At the time I was essentially at the tail-end of my transition from Evangelicalism to Lutheranism. I had been describing myself as a "Crypto-Lutheran" or "Secret Lutheran" for several years; as I agreed with the Lutheran theology I was familiar with up to that time, but had not actually made the plunge to joining a Lutheran church.

That's changed since then.

Only about a year or so later I lost my account on here as I lost access to my email. I figured the easiest solution was to make a new account, but I didn't want people to think I created a sock puppet, so I continued to sign off all my posts with "-CryptoLutheran". Something I've continued to do for like a decade now on here.

My name, ViaCrucis is Latin, via crucis, "[the] way of the cross".

My name is based on a lot of factors including the Lutheran Theology of the Cross, my conviction of a Christian ethos based upon peace and nonviolence, in which the cross demonstrates the way the Christian is to engage with the world by loving and co-suffering with the world. A fundamental understanding that Christ's preaching of the kingdom of God involves a radical subversion of the language and dynamics of power by presenting the reality of God in the humility of Himself and His sufferings, as the "Least in the kingdom", and His teaching concerning the exalting of the lowly and humiliation of the powerful. I also wanted to invoke the Western Christian tradition and practice of the Stations of the Cross as a powerful meditative tool for focusing on Christ's Passion and how His Passion should be influence Christians in their lives of discipleship.

At the end of the day, it speaks to Jesus' way being that we, who call ourselves His disciples, take up our cross and follow Him. That we lay ourselves down and do things His way: We love our enemies, we pray for those who persecute us, we do not retaliate evil for evil, we live peaceably, devoting ourselves to love, compassion, kindness, and generosity. The Christian life is shaped by the Cross, not the Sword, which is is the antithesis of the cross.
