How did you arrive at CF?

Ok, Ok...I heard ya! LOL Do you have an interesting story about how you were led here, or anywhere else for that matter?

We are preparing to make a HUGE move a short distance (gggrrrrrr, gotta love the military). In researching my new city, online...more specifically, desperately looking for a house we could even slightly afford to rent...I tripped over a link to a place where Christian business people were listed.

As I browsed through this list, and read lots of testimony, and personal faith statements, I was also looking for links to realty offices, or anything else interesting. I found lambslove's listing, and clicked on her link, which brought me straight to her CF profile!

Far out! I had no idea!

I used to belong to another Christian forum, but it went south, I mean it went mean with trolls and even Christians attacking each other over everything, including how the spelled their screen names, so I left and googled Christian forums, and of course this place was at the top of the list. So here I am.

I wanted to hook up with a Christian message board so I typed "Christian Forums" into Google and...well, who would have thought that a search like that would come up with this place.

I honestly can't remember what words I typed into google to find this, but I needed to find a place where I could interact with Christians - I didn't really know what I was looking for. I found this place and was so thankful... love this place!

I found CF through search engines because the forum I was once on became just a cesspool of constant bickering and flat out flaming. I would ask questions and people, who had no intentions of answering my question, would post stuff just to see how they could prod my anger. Craziness!For the most part I'm glad to have found CF. There are times I wish I hadn't, especially when you get on those endless debates and neither party ever wants to admit their wrong, but I guess that's just human fallacy. Anyway, CF if a good place to be with good people.

I was angry with my dad..hahah not a good Christian start huh?

My cousin had just died from loss of blood after having a baby as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I asked dad if he could help me to understand why she had to die and he asked me not to stir up the family in their grief. So I started to search the web for answers and found this site. I preferred it to 'live christian rooms in paltalk' as the monitors here checked for the attacks. So very many many questions were answered and one man called Ben Johnson helped me cover a lot of things in private messages.

The site is an entity on it's own, with banks, pets, sharing forums and the games. The games helped me when I was depressed after I left home and had no energy to study much. I love this site and how it is managed.

I started out at a place called SperoForum, and found it to be a snake pit. When I finally became convinced it was a godless entity, I started searching on Yahoo. I found another site called Timebombers that was fun for a time. Unfortunately, it went belly up from internal strife. So, I continued my Yahoo searching, and found CF.

I am not completely satisfied with CF, but I have not yet found another that grabs my attention. Oh, well, I guess you guys are stuck with me for now.

Oh, if you are wondering why I am not completely satisfied here, I do not like a so-called Christian Forum that does not let Christians speak their mind without threat of punishment and/or banishment. The truth may be hard to take, but it is still the truth.

They should create an "open" forum here, with no mods and a "free-to speak" rule. At least that would be my suggestion, for what it is worth.

I'd joined a long time ago who knows how, and then about two years ago a friend of mine was looking for good theological discussion/debate, so I led him here, and then I began sticking around too.

I used to post in Youth Specialties, but decided that was no place for me. I cannot rmemeber if i googled in or not, but I probably did, knowing me.

Anyway I wasn't sure if I liked this place at first but when i found out I could turn off signatures, and whatever, I stuck around. I am a stickler for people not having books of information as signatures.

A forum without rules and mods would hurt many. The nature of man gets in the way of what should be our natural love for each other "Love one another as I have loved you". Some people come here hurt by life circumstances and if their feelings are trod on just one more time it could cause many many problems in real life.

If you go to the non Christian area you are able to debate your opinions of The Bible openly providing you are not 'slandering' another human being. You also have the option of a PM with anyone, should you have further opinions and seek their permission to talk openly.

I guess I kind of stick up for this site as it stuck up for me when I try to ask things and people get stuck into me due to my upbringing or the inadequate way I express myself in my questions.

I discovered this site at the end of May of 2004. I was searching on Google for various Christian forums. Keep in mind, I didn't even know this site existed at the time. I am thinking that http://www.christianforums.com/ was at the top of the list but it may have been 2nd or 3rd in the list. Needless to say, I clicked, signed up, and immediately became addicted.

I frequented another "Christian" message board, but it wasn't what I thought it was. The Mods controlled everything, if you mentioned something they were against, you would be warned and then thrown out. A lot of one sided conversations. I felt like I was in a prison camp and couldn't speak out for myself. Odd!!! They also seemed to believe one denomination only and everyone else was wrong and going to Hell if they didn't change. I'm not going to state what that denomination was, but they were very adimant about it.

So, I searched for something else and somehow through the many thousands hits in Google, landed ont his one. I have since led my wife here and she has more posts than me!! But, we both enjoy it.

A friend on another smaller and more specialized Christian forum was banned. She suggested I check out CF, as being more broad-minded than the one where I met her. Unfortunately, now she is also banned here.
