If so, everything should die off.
Why? Bacteria and such can be quite resilient and evolve. I mean we also have some eels migrate to near the mid ocean even to this day. Some speculate that this is because they used to breed there before the rapid divide of continents..not that long ago.

Wikipedia is your friend:

"Chemosynthetic bacteria and archaea form the base of the food chain, supporting diverse organisms, including giant tube worms, clams, limpets and shrimp."

"The chemosynthetic bacteria grow into a thick mat which attracts other organisms, such as amphipods and copepods, which graze upon the bacteria directly. Larger organisms, such as snails, shrimp, crabs, tube worms, fish (especially eelpout, cutthroat eel, ophidiiforms and Symphurus thermophilus), and octopi (notably Vulcanoctopus hydrothermalis), form a food chain of predator and prey relationships above the primary consumers."

OK. More species are there.
But my question still stand there. Why do they want to stay there at the first place? Fishes can move fast. Don't tell me fishes can not escape the fatal environment quick enough.

If nature changed at about the same time as the rapid continental move, then creatures could have adapted quickly. Therefore it would NOT have been fatal then.

Yes, I know what "want" means, and I know quite a lot about evolution, and I know that the two have nothing to do with one another. I don't know how you got the bizarre idea that wanting has anything to do with evolution, but your belief has nothing to do with reality.

You are forcing me to spell some trivia. Shame.
I (or any life) WANT something, because that thing helps me to survive better. If that is not a principle of evolution, the TOE can die.

The environment is not fatal for those fish. They do just fine there. Just because an environment would be fatal for you doesn't mean it's intrinsically bad.

Do you think wood wants to burn? Do you think trees want to fall down when a hurricane hits? Do you think winds want to blow?

No. But I do think fishes WANT to avoid hot volcanic water. Hope you won't feel strange about this idea.

Well, where do those fishes come from? They are not heated to death at 300°C.

As far as I know, the fish aren't in the hot water, but are instead nearby. In any case, they're comfortable in whatever temperature water they're in.

I'm trying to get at the roots of your deep misunderstanding of evolution.
I (or any life) WANT something, because that thing helps me to survive better.
That's not what "want" means. "Want" in contemporary English means "has a desire for". Living things do not have a desire for their offspring to have certain mutations. (There's an archaic meaning for "want" as well, which is "need", but that doesn't apply either. Organisms also don't need the mutations that open up new niches for them, since they're generally already successful the way they are.

Because there is some resource there that isn't elsewhere or isn't as common elsewhere. Maybe there's more food there because other fish can't stand being there. Could be nesting grounds, could be something else too.

Do not cheat yourself. Go away from evolution.

What, no actual response? You're copping out of the debate because you lost, and now you're attacking me personally to make it seem like you've won.

Definitely. You can not answer the question.
juvenissun, I told you how various organisms evolve into ones that fit a particular niche, like a hydrothermal vent. It's not clear what problem you think there is with this explanation, since your only challenge to it involves a misuse of English.

Definitely. You can not answer the question. I don't have much hope for others.

sfs answered your question repeatedly. Maybe you should start listing to him since he is a Geneticist and actually knows what he's talking about unlike you.

Thanks (although I'm pretty sure I'm a guy).
