If Grace is God's freedom then faith is man's freedom. We could easily replace the word faith with will or love. Yes, how can it be of myself when what I want is of God?

We consciously and unconsciously do it, I would say. All the flesh is a correspondence for higher realities though. therefore cause and effect do not happen just horizontally but also vertically. the inwardness of something penetrates into other realities.
It is nice that Christians throughout the ages have contemplated Christ crucified. I don't care about how much Christians might have changed but rather how much they have grown and how many have loved to God.God calls us to reason with Him .. He being in all flesh ... in everything there is a path back seeing everything testifies of Him ... in one picture of the cross as the alter Christ was crucified on speaks to this you wrote as in north south and east west ....

and yet when you view the theologies and doctrines which have come out from Christendom, one can only conclude that their contemplation of Christ crucified has been superficial at best ...

two perceptions/sons of one tree/soul ... it is an in the day you eat, which relates to the sixth (labor) or the seventh (rest) ..... Jesus received all the things the devil tempted him with in the wilderness, which is to say the tree revealed its fruit to him without him having to touch it ...
