  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've been able to support my position with verses from the bible. You have failed to support your position beyond denial and handwaving. Which is a more biblical position?
Since you deny the Bible is true, and that God is in charge, what do you think?

p.s. everything I post, as far as known, is in line with all Scripture. (and often a quote)

Just like the Bible says, the truth sometimes needs to be drawn out like water out of a well.

OR if you want to know where it is in the Bible, use an internet/Bible search tool.

IF I saw my own child, or anyone else, heading down the highway towards a 200 foot drop at a bridge that was out,
and warned them that they would die if they drove down that highway over the bridge,

there'd be no threat in that at all.

God NEVER threatens anyone. He simply tells you what will happen.
Like I said, an incredibly weak argument. God did not see Adam about to eat the fruit and say stop. He comnanded Adam not to do it before it was in Adam's mind.

You can handwave and plead and twist, but you have nothing.

God actually did see Adam about to eat the fruit.

He actually did know perfectly what Adam would do.

He actually did tell Adam what would happen. And it did.

GOd never has to threaten anyone - He knows everything, so He can simply tell you what is going to happen, with no threat at all.

IF you feel like it is a threat, perhaps that is conscience working ? OR fear of judgment ?

Good.

Now here's a thing. My position is biblically supportable with a literal reading of Genesis. Your position is somewhat shaky on that front. How odd that a Creationist doesn't support a literal reading of Genesis. Go figure.

Chapter and verse please.

He actually did know perfectly what Adam would do.
Predestination? That's dangerous territory.

I suggest you learn the meaning of "threaten". There are many instances of God doing that in the bible.

Your definition of a threat, or threaten, is different than the Bible....

so no, there are no instances of God "doing that" in the Bible,

except in you mind/ definitions apart from and opposed to Jesus.

God NEVER threatens anyone. He simply tells you what will happen. Maybe even graciously ? (especially since no one deserves to know)

Your English dictionary definition does not say anything about Yahuweh's Word.
How many times do I need to ask you what the definition is? If you don't know, just say so. Refusing to provide the definition is childish and smacks of avoidance and dishonesty.

When replying to avoidance and dishonesty, avoidance and dishonesty may appear to the beholder ....

You are the one who called a threat something that is not a threat. Why , I don't understand.... Continuing to do so is even more childish, eh!? < shrugs > but I don't know why you think it even could be considered a threat. If someone wants to drive down the highway after finding out the bridge is out and there's a 200 foot drop, maybe they can't be stopped... I don't know... but I will still warn them, without any threatening at all.....

The direction people are going is on the wide road to destruction (no threat - just reality).
The purpose of telling,
is so those who love God and are called according to His Purpose may STOP SINNING, be freed from the penalty of sin, and no longer remain on the road to destruction. Rather get on the narrow road to life eternal... again no threat, only a warning and a promise !

The difference is that god is "warning" of a punishment that he deals out himself. That makes it a threat.

If I "warn" somebody that I'm gonna punch them in the face if they say one more word...that is a threat.

Side note: Why are creationist analogies always so bad?
