Actually black holes can destroy energy and matter, as they have been known to completely disappear with a trace. A popular theory is that the universe will eventually expand so much that it will collapse in on itself, ending the universe we know now and eventually expanding back out to a new universe. This is also a very popular theory on how the universe we know was created and each subsequent universe is moving towards perfection.

The current theory on black holes(and its just a theory, we've never found one) is they act like gravity wells. A singularity forms, and creates such a "ditch" in the fabric of space-time, that nothing can escape it. So that is why we don't see any matter or energy coming out(not to mention the time dilation approaches no movement in space relative to others). The matter is trapped inside the black holes.

Some support: "THEORY- a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, esp. one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained."

Thus a "theoretical black hole" would be an illustration of the concept of the black hole, for if we did find one, it would have to be in some form of gravity field detectors and it would have to be from some specialised probe (unless the theory of a black hole - for whatever reason - should need to be redefined). Whether a black hole exists is debatable, but the idea of a black hole can be discussed here ;)

Black Holes do actually exist, we have observed them and they give off a certain kind of radiation. It is not pseudoscience, if you knew what you were talking about, you would know that the "laws" of Science are just our understanding of the universe and our understanding gets better everyday. Black Holes absorb the mass and energy of the object that they consume and scientists have observed black holes that have completely disappeared from the universe taking all of its mass, energy and information with it. This was the view taken by Stephen Hawking in the black hole war, but Hawking retracted his statement in 04 and said that Black Holes may not break the "laws" of of conservation of energy and information. Hawking switched sides and agreed with John Preskill that the information a black hole absorbs eventually leaks from it. The problem is that no one has been able to come close to proving either theory. So I would say that Black Holes are in a state of limbo, we know very little about them and our understanding of them most likely won't get better for a while. To say that Black Holes do break the laws of conversation of energy/information would be wrong but to say that they don't would also be wrong, sort of like Schrodinger's cat.

I totally agree with you. But the problem is, Black Holes, while having evidence for them, are still a theory. We cannot directly observe them, but we can observe the effects. But since we cannot observe them directly, we cannot definitively say they exist, nor definitively say anything directly related to them or their laws. Like you said, Schrodinger's cat.

To say that anything exists besides your own thoughts is just a theory. So what is your point?
