How close am I?

So I wrote this ages ago, posted it on Facebook.

Just wondering for those who are young earth, if you scan over the numbers.... how accurate would you say I was?

So I think about stuff a lot, the last few days I have been thinking about creation again, so I'm looking at it.
Young Earth Christianity suggests the 6000 year thing and Science suggests the 13-15Billion year thing. So I'm taking a closer look.

Ok, so I have it. In the beginning God created the Earth, on day 6 he/she/it created Adam.
Now, if we read Genesis 5, we are given a sort of family tree of the blood line from Adam to Abram.
So, here goes.
Adam at age 130 gives life to Seth.
Seth at 105 gives life to (from here on shortened to glt) Enos.
Enos at 90 glt Cainan.
Cainan at 70 glt Mahalaleel.
Mahalaleel at 65 glt Jared.
Jared at 162 glt Enoch.
Enoch at 65 glt Methuselah.
Methuselah at 187 glt Lamech.
Lamech at 182 glt Noah.
Noah at 500 (hi-5 for the old guy) glt Shem, Ham and Japeth.

Now, from here the story goes into little tales of the above dudes, so we must move forward to Genesis 11:10 where we pick up the generations of Shem.
Isn't this fun boys and girls!... I should do one of these about my ideas on time travel... but back to mythology.

So at the grand age of 100, Shem glt Arphaxad (thats really hard to say too, couldn't they have just called him Steve?)
So Steve (Arphaxad) at 530 glt Salah
Salah at 30 (yeah the life expectancy dropped dramatically here) glt Eber.
Eber at 34 glt Peleg.
Peleg at 30 glt Reu.
Reu at 32 glt Erug.
Erug at 30 glt Nahor
Nahor (lol) at 29 glt Terah.

And at the ripe old age and popular 3 score and 10... Terah at 70 gives life to Abram.

So we take all those paths through that tree, adding as we go. We reach 2441
So now we have 2441 years... and 5 days after creation when Abraham was born.

Now by this point you are probably thinking... ok but that doesn't give us a date of anything. Well it does if you know this next piece of information.
Firstly to save confusion, in Genesis 17:5, Abram is renamed by God to Abraham.

So, there are no dates in the Bible, but in the writing of the original Hebrew text... there are. There are quite a few ideas about what dates are correct for certain events.
It is almost universally agreed though, that Abraham was 175 years old when he died.
There are 2 dates of his life that are pretty much agreed on.

So in original Jewish text, Abraham was born 1812BC and Died 1637BC.
In 17th Century, Archbishop James Ussher proposed Abraham was Born 1976BC and Died 1801BC.

I think we should take the older of the 2, being the Catholic one of Born 1976, just to give science a fighting chance against this damming evidence of the age of the Earth.

So we'll take Jan 1st of this year, 2013 and the year of Abrahams birth 1976BC and we have a number...Abraham was born 3989 years ago.
Then we add the above time line of 2441 to that and we get the magic number.

The age of the Earth according to The Bible (across almost all variations of Christianity) is... 6430 years... and 5 days.

Er..no.. only according to those very few that take the bible literally. That is by far the minority of total Christianity.
