how can you fully belive in god? i mean how do you know?

sence i joied this prob about a year ago i have been trying to belive on and off. same with my girlfriend we have been talking about going to church but both of us get right down to it and say we don't belive 100 percent so there isn't much point in going to church if you don't fully belive. im really trying i don't know why i just can't put all the faith and devotion into something i don't know is out there.

Because He loves me; that's how I can fully believe. Because I experience His love everyday, especially at Mass. Stop trying so hard to determine His existance and open yourself to receive Him. Go to Mass not because you are sure but because you are unsure. Tell Him your struggling, not because He doesn't know it but because He wants you to admit it to Him. Pray, "God, help my unbelief."

Understand that you can spend all the time in the world here on the forum talking about God but never really meet Him. Your time would be better spent before Him in adoration.

Welcome. Know that faith is two things, not just one - It is an exercise of human will, but it is also a gift of grace from God. Human beings can exercise their will in "faith" all they want to, but if God does not provide the grace of faith to them, they will simply be spinning their wheels. I almost get the impression that that's what you and your girlfriend are doing - trying to believe in God without Him enabling you to do so, which is not possible.

Have you ever asked God for the gift of faith?

Great point, also, many people who study the way space all the planets and stars are formed, could not have been done without a God, if it were to have happend lets say by a big bang, it woudn't be so much in order.

Also, it's always hard to believe, but that is our call, sometimes we doubt, and that's ok, as long as we fight back and remain a beliver.

Although, just becaue you don't believe in God 100% you should still go to Church , you may start to believe after just a few weeks going to church.

back to the OP I talk with JESUS frequantly.

as others have said you don't have to believe to go to church. A miracle happens at every mass. go and experience it. And pray O GOD, if there is a GOD, save my soul if i have a soul

do you not believe because you feel that it can't be explained or proven physically? i know and believe because i can feel it. the less you feel you believe, the more you need to go to church, it will help strengthen you and your faith.
