Because having all of those who are saved by the blood of Christ working together would be a good thing. We are one body and we should recognise it.Why must we even ask the question re: reconciliation between RC & P's?

Sorry fella but before you start shooting from the hip you may want to read and actually try to understand what is being said before imposing your predeterminations which ARE FALSE.
I have no issues with the LAKE OF FIRE and THE DEVIL and his messengers being IN THERE. Where are THEY now might be a good question for you to look at? You may also ask yourself if what you THINK applies to mankind MAY apply to THEM if THEY are in and with mankind?
And fwiw there is not one single named individual person in the entire text of the Bible given as an example of what you THINK you see BUT if you do happen to find one, you jes give me a holla, K?

I think that is an acceptable answer explaining what your religion teaches.
Sections 1 and 2 of the Catechism Of The Catholic Church:
God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength. He calls together all men, scattered and divided by sin, into the unity of his family, the Church. To accomplish this, when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son as Redeemer and Savior. In his Son and through him, he invites men to become, in the Holy Spirit, his adopted children and thus heirs of his blessed life.
So that this call should resound throughout the world, Christ sent forth the apostles he had chosen, commissioning them to proclaim the gospel: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age." Strengthened by this mission, the apostles "went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that attended it.
bump - still waiting for an answer to this. Can you please put that in your own words briefly?
If someone actually asked you that question, have you memorized this and is this what you would reply?

There was an interesting thread on just that topic awhile back.

Skeptics, Cynics, and Pearls (Oh My!)
he isn't bigoted imo.I think bigotry speaks for itself, Nadiine.
The time between the John 6 eat my flesh comment and the Lords supper...Simon, the Eucharist was instituted at the Last Supper. What do you mean, a year later?
He also said that even the EVIL love their own children too....
Generic love isn't salvation tho. & not many people would view
Jesus as too loving if they only saw Him using the whip &
turning over tables in his fury at the moneychangers who were
ripping people off at the temple.
Love takes on different forms than just the false version we're
fed today. TRUE love involves many things, not just the
warm cuddly teddy bears, glittery rainbows & unicorns
Or he might just discipline those who are being naughty and letI have to go now and, as I'm pretty sure this thread will be closed by the time I get back, I reckon you have the last word.
So why did you say this?[/size]
I find no difference between the Two.
God is Love. Jesus Is God. Love Is God. Kinda all works out pretty good.
Who Is Love? Our Lord!
Love is OF and FROM God. Everyone who LOVES knows God, is born OF God and GOD Himself LIVES in them.

That's helpfulcome home
Apparantly, they never did say lol.Edit: Apparently, it involves walking around with surfboards and lots of swimsuits...
Sorry my friend, but your viewpoints are universalist. Just because someone loves doesn't automatically make them born of GOD.
That is your jist of things you are trying to get folks to believe on here and it doesn't add up in scripture.
Apparantly, they never did say lol.
Woah Anno! I umm, wasnt talking about eros love
not allowed to discuss Mary here, she's "ghettoized" to the Mariology subforumThe main reason is becuz he's using scripture & dogma to make the evaluation.
If one construes praying to Mary as "worship" to her, then they aren't
bigots for the sake of hating, they're finding idolatrous practice by a
set religion & claiming it's a false religion.
I would like to remind to try and get away from finger-pointing, which seems to have started several posts back, and focus on the topic of the thread. There is no expection or possibility of us all becoming RC, scrap that one, nor is there expectation or possibility of us all becoming Protestant, scrap that one. But we can come to the table as fellow believers, with mutual respect and acceptance of our several belief systems. How about it?
Dave
Well no, unity isn't going to be achieved by debating in an internet forum. That would go with what I said earlier about trying to find unity through doctrines. Our best chance would be to get off the computer and do the work God has called us to do in the world together. We'd probably spend less time focussing on our differences if we were busy clothing the naked, feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, preaching and living the gospel. Then we might learn what unity in the body of Christ actually means. But that's not what happens here. What goes on here is something that comes from a darker, more sinister nature within us. What happens here is not life giving at all. In fact, I would dare say it only drives the nail further in.

John the Apostle said otherwise. If you can't accept it that's fine for you. You just go ahead and figure out some way to deny it. Doesn't bother me a bit.
I always put specifics on the table for discussions. The fact that choose not to deal or engage with them is obvious enough fwiw.
Keep what you have. Hide it under a napkin and bury it for all I care.
