You know, this is just a note to what I've seen in a few posts by a few
people here...
we don't just take 1 verse from the entire bible to relay the gospel - the gospel is woven thru MUCH of the gospels.

Taking one and ignoring another is just as erroneous.

I also believe that people can believe the gospel is true in & of itself,
yet not be saved becuz of identifying Jesus wrongly/or God wrongly -
or showing fruit that they were never regenerated spiritually.

There you have it: a Catholic declaring God's word "not true".
That verse does not sufficiently prove that you yourself cannot get out of God's hand. It is talking about other men removing you from God's hand, not necessarily you removing yourself.
Right. You believe that I must partake of your Eucharist to be saved.
There you have it: a John Deere fan declaring God's word not true.

We believe what Jesus Christ said.

John 6:53 "So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves."
Right. You believe that I must partake of your Eucharist to be saved.

I am quoting Jesus Christ

My request (actually more of a demand) has to include both sides. I see condemnation from both sides being a large stumbling block. No one has to agree with the other's position but we will stop flaming each other.

I always wondered about those who believed these words as the catholics do and yet weren't able to partake in the Lord supper because it hadn't been institued for at least another year later...What if they passed on before that???

John 5:39 "Ye are searching the Writings that ye are seeming in them life age-during to be having and those are the ones-testifying about Me". [2 Peter 3:16]

Reve 6:16 And they are saying to the mountains and to the rocks: 'be falling upon us! and hide us! from Face of the One-sitting upon the Throne and from the wrath of the Lamb-kin' [Hosea 10:8/Luke 23:30]

Nope. Never said God's word isn't true.

I did. You never answered.

You just attacked me and called me names.

Well, I do have to thank you for one thing my brother: You make me look WAYYYYY better than I can ever make myself look.

No, I disagree. It's not logical to assume Arbiter is condemning anyone.

In 'your view' it was not apparent. To me it was VERY apparent and openly done right there in front of our eyes. Go back and look and you may readily see it.

Quoting Scripture that goes against your theology isnt 'me' condemning
my fellow man. It's 'me' quoting God.

That is a very common FALLACY mask of the condemnation of other people.

"I'm not doing the condemning of them, BUT GOD IS..."

And to that I say, NO, it's what YOU THINK YOU SEE

...and in FACT IT IS what is IN YOU that is being reflected i.e. YOUR CONCLUSIONS as there are many other legitimate ways to see those same scriptures and come to completely different conclusions.

Most people who pick up the scriptures will come to conclusions that are NOT in accord with loving their neighbors as themselves and this is MEANT to happen to show us all individually WHAT IS IN US. And this is the activity that transpires at this and EVERY christian board.

And you know of course that I mean you no harm whatsoever in making these statements. I believe that ALL MANKIND are washed clean by the Blood of our Lord and are therefore PERFECT and on the trail of PERFECTION one way or another, sooner or later.

enjoy!

quote=JohnDeereFan; Which post was that? I still haven't seen where she answered any of my questions.

I couldn't actualy find it. I took this quote from Christianmom's post;
......For the record, as a Catholic, I can tell everyone: The Gospel is the Good News that God became a man so that we could become adopted sons of God. I doubt you will find a better, more succinct explanation of the Gospel than that.

JohnDeereFan; OK.
Thank you.

"Nothing" means "nothing". It says that "nothing" can take you from God's hand.
If you are going to put it in quotes I'd agree with LLOJ. Post the full scripture, or at least a reference. I think we're talking about this verse:
This one does not say "nothing". It is also clear that in order to be in God's hand and so unsnatchable you must follow Jesus.
