Back when I was into that sort of thing they helped me find a Mennonite church in my hometown, sent then an email... was too shy to ever talk to them on the phone though.

I'm kinda confused, PaladinGirl - I think I keep seeing your name but different faith icons?

I am a Baptist and I look with gladness upon my Anabaptist history.

You do know that today's Baptists came out of the Church of England and not directly from churches of the Anabaptist tradition, don't you?

Hi everyone. How do I go about finding an Anabaptist Church in my area?

What is your area? I no longer attend an anabaptist church, but am very, very familiar with them and have many friends who are anabaptists. Shoot, I even went to a Mennonite college and seminary.

The Church of the Brethren (a fairly large and contemporary evolution from the old-world Dunkards/Old Order/German Baptist Brethren) have a directory here:

Church of the Brethren: Find a Church

To find the Dunkard Brethren, of which there are only something like 900, you've gotta find yourself in Penn. or Ohio.

There is a small and I mean SMALL group of Dunkard Brethren here in Goshen, IN. Their youngest member is in her late 40s or early 50s. She was one of my nurses while I was fighting and recovering from pneumonia in ICU. I can't remember now exactly how many she said were members in her Dunkard Church, but I believe it is the 20 to 25 range. They DO have their own building at this left over from a more vibrant day. I fear that they will soon be non-existent.
