how can i deepen my relationship???

hey, due to past events my relationship with God has really suffered, and i was just wondering how i can deepen that relationship so its back to where it used to be. i read the bible, but that doesnt seem to do much for me a lot of the time. plz help?

Same way you would build a relationship with any other person. Through communication.
We communicate with God by prayer. You do not have to follow any religious format in prayer, just talk to God. Remember to listen as well.

You do not say if you are baptised in the Holy Spirit or not. The Holy Spirit will guide you in your relationship with God. He will help you to pray. He will teach you.
If you are already baptised in the Holy Spirit, spend more time with Him.

Remember past events are behind you. God is with you and preparing a way ahead of you.

Jesus says that when we feed or clothe people in need, we have done it unto Him. Even a glass of water given in His name does not go un noticed or without reward. There are many people who are handicapped or in nursing homes without visitation to raise their spirits and give encouragement. Jesus asked, "Did you visit me when I was sick." The challenge to a Christians life is even to us sharing our homes with the stranger and the downtrodden. Many missions in the cities need volunteers for work, and all communities need Christians who are willing to put their love in gear and put wheels to it in action. I hope to see the next move of the Church to be activist in communities for the poor because a great time of trouble coming that will test our true motives and love. The true Church will either rise or like in Germany during the war, become silent without much voice or action.
