How can I bring the presence of God into my room or other "intimate" place?

I think it would help if you provide a concrete definition of "sensual" or "flesh", and how that definition applies to videos #7, #11, #15, #17, because I'm struggling to see how it applies to those videos.

A more obvious example is how Saul was on his way to Damascus, full of hatred, when Jesus revealed Himself to Saul. He had not status, no spirituality, no methods which helped him to become with Jesus.

Except Paul was a very zealous Pharisee, who was convinced Christians were blasphemers, and thought he was doing a service for God by getting rid of them.

Jesus showed him the truth so he’d use that same zeal to work for the kingdom.

Shalom.

Paul’s thorn in the flesh is special circumstances that don’t apply to the vast majority of Christians.

Unless a believer is taken to heaven and shown things which cant be told, which man cannot utter, (as Paul was), then given a thorn in the flesh to keep them humble, (which is why it was given to him) - then they won’t be given that torn in the flesh.

And the thorn in the flesh is called a messenger from Satan, so it’s not physical sickness: sickness and disease are never called a thorn in scripture.

Plus it buffets him, said Paul. The word ‘buffet’ in the text means to punch.

However angels are called messengers in scripture, thus a messenger from Satan is a fallen angel, aka a demon, who is harassing and punching Paul, and oppressing him.

Shalom.

When Paul speaks of the flesh, it’s works of the flesh, which he defines, and they are sins.

I haven’t watched the videos, but I doubt they show acts of sins of the flesh, in them.

Paul’s emphasis on that is, if you choose to walk after the flesh, instead of after the Spirit, you won’t make it into heaven.

The thing is, if you seek God just for a vision, or a feeling, you’re not going to get it.

You’re especially not going to get it without receiving Jesus, to become a child of God, John 1:12, and Romans 10:8-13 outlines how to be saved.

To that add repentance from sins to have them forgiven, as part of our conversion, Acts 3:19.

Here’s what I wrote in another post on how to be saved:

To become a child of God, you must receive Jesus, (John 1:12),by asking Him into your heart (Revelation 3:20), where He then dwells (Ephesians 3:17and Colossians 1:27), and ask Him to forgive your sins so they are forgiven (Acts 3:19 and Acts 20:21), and call upon His name to be saved Romans 10:13.

Prayer for salvation: Lord Jesus, I believe you died for my sins and rose again - please come into my heart, forgive my sins, save my soul, and make me a new creation. In your name, amen.

Then you need to study the scriptures, because Jesus said in order for you to get your prayers granted, you have to abide in Jesus, and His words must abide in you:

Joh 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

And pray to the Father, in Jesus’ name, as He said to do (end prayers with “in Jesus’ name, amen”.

Also after you’re saved, you need to repent when you know you’ve sinned; and forgive those who’ve sinned against you, so your sins are forgiven.

If you want to experience God leave the self centered idea to seek this experience for yourself. The other part is that it's about grace and mercy and nothing we can attain. Help the poor, feed the hungry, give to those in need, be honest with God and do what Jesus tells you. Give your whole heart to him, and you'll see. Do not seek ANY experience more than you seek God!

I remember some years back having a very mighty encounter with the Lord.

My life was at desperation point. I was lonely, I was depressed, I felt that God had totally abandoned me and that there was never any way back to Him. I had no rest day or night - for weeks on end, my mind was in continuous torment.

One evening, I went to my bedroom, closed the door and I prayed - and I prayed hard. I was literally face down on the floor pleading with God to help me. I told Him I would do anything, literally anything, to have Him back in my life. I was praying for quite some time.

Suddenly, I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. I felt that I had literally been lifted out of a pit and that I was totally free and liberated. I felt totally surrounded by God's presence and His love. And I had a boldness and confidence that I had not had before.

yes, walk in your room or other "intimate" places and God will be there too. If you seek his manifested presence then that is for God to manifest and we can not conjure it up.

The downside of having a "special experience" is that most Christians don't have them, and thus cannot relate to you, and quite often misunderstand it as something occult.

In terms of being aware of God's presence all the time there are two things that need to be in place.

1) Your trust/faith in God, this is the conduit God uses to connect with us from His dimension where the laws of physics are slightly different.

2) The removal of sin, through confession and/or repentance - and consistent prayer for an environment. Sin is a waste product, but its main effect for this purpose is that it obscures light, so removing it and encouraging transparency gives more angles the light can rush in from.

Since we're pretty dull sensed in the first place, the more of God's presence is concentrated, the more likely our "feelings" will take notice - which has it's own issues since the body and all thoughts and emotions coming from it are hostile to God.

Keep a worship song - a song that is about God - on your mind continually.

Based on- There's approximately 50 chapters about the tabernacles in the OT The tabernacle under David's administration was about worshipping God. Music was emphasized and played to Him night and day.

From I Chron 16- David
"And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, and to record, and to thank and praise the Lord God of Israel:" Now we are priests (Rev 1).

Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name...He is good his mercy endureth for ever.

Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.

Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.

Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face

("By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name." Heb)

Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

If one takes biblical accounts as their guide, it is easily discerned how there were many ways God made himself present to belivers and unbelivers. Dramatic accounts such as His power over Paul, throwing him off his horse and audibly speaking to him, is one such account. In contrast Elijah , though zealous for a profound experience , God impressed upon him with a small still voice, known as our conscience.
If we seek for a sign or experience, our faith is weak. Seek more for an intimate relationship. Search out scripture on what our Lord warned us about. Be blessed.

What does it mean to be continually experiencing Him? Like you constantly feel God's presence with you? Is that possible?
I wonder too bc i dont feel him with me.
What if I've never had any experience at all?

Im marking my spot bc im just like u.

But what if u pray and get nothing? I wonder what im doing wrong.
This is informative

This is good.

You need to seek God and get closer to him and the Holy spirit.

The other comment i agree what he said, because yes you can pray at any time, even doing other things, and you don't need elaborate sentences or words or anything, you can just ask for help God sees our hearts and our need. So pray with strenght for help or anything and insist, and you can ask that you want the Holy spirit and to know God better.

"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."

Seeking out emotional experiences is a waste of time. If you want to be in the presence of God, read your Bible daily and go to church on Sunday. Trying to manufacture God's presence, as though something we do can control God, is a fools errand. If you want God to speak to you, open your Bible. Every word is his.

Pfft. Sure feeling Gods love and presence and glory can be felt a lot, no one can manufacture those things though, is God doing something to you and even if emotions get involved, they are not things of 'your emotions' they are real stuff that God does. They can be life changing, faith increasing things indeed, would a father not do things to their childs?? God does things to us.
