You know, it used to be, "A vote for the NDP is a vote for Conservatives".

But this election, in some ridings, it was, "A vote for the Liberals was a vote for the conservatives" and " A vote for the Green is a vote for the conservative".

But that's just a silly observation that I felt like making :p

What I really want to say is... this government looks pretty good. However, it's wierd how the NDP received more votes than the Bloc, and yet the Bloc received twice as many seats! I think proportional rep may be the way to go...anyone with me?

Do I detect another referendum in the making??
Of course (as i said in an earlier post):sigh:

The Bloc has only one thing on their minds - Quebec as a seperate, independent country. As i said in my earlier post - fine, if the PROVINCE of Quebec wants to secede from the Confederation of Canada leave the Canadian passport at the door AND make the question put forth to Quebecers blunt and to the point this time !!

BTW, MY Canada STILL includes Quebec !;)

Hey! I don't want to make anyone angry because I support the Bloc. :)

I'll leave it at that for now.

God bless each and every one of you.

p.s. Talking about politics always stirs up strong emotions...
I'm not angry at all :) You have the freedom to make whatever choice you choose.

I don't mind people supporting the Bloc. I just don't like that while they received around 12.4% of the vote, they recieved 54 seats, while the NDP, which was supported by 15.7% of Canadians, only recieved 19 seats. Proportionally, NDP should have recieved around 48 seats, Bloc around 38 seats, and Greens 14 seats. Oh well.

If we went by some form of % representation, it would have been...
Lib-113
Bloc-38
Green-14
Conserv-91
NDP-48
Other-4

Oh well... it looks like we have a productive government, if nothing else.

The best form of representation is freedom of assembly,
which is easy to do with computers.
People assemble themselves anyway they want to,
according to regulations as to how many representatives
their universe is entitled to, and how many are the min/max
of electors who are entitled to a representative.
Therefore, at the instance of a newly entitled assembly,
the computer sends notices automatically to the assembly which has just lost its right to a representative.
I would expect the assemblies would tend to cluster around real political issues.
