im hoping to have a relationship that will lead to marriage. I’ve had two relationships in the past, but they weren’t the ones God had intended for marriage.

I am a naturally inquisitive person; I thoroughly enjoy learning and sharing over questions. In my experience, questions are a vital part of learning about your boyfriend or girlfriend.

Favourite colours, pets, or allergies are great questions to have answers to. There are deeper questions that will help two people find out if they are prepared for a serious relationship together; questions about values, future hopes (family, church involvement, etc), attitudes about physical intimacy, and parenting.

I feel like these discussions can be an exciting time of growth, as well as beneficial for being intentional about your desire to know your partner.

My question is this: what have been some successful ways to broach these topics?

Questions about your stance on abortion, or areas of struggle in your walk with Christ aren’t always easy to drop unexpectedly.

So for those questions that do not come up naturally, how have you and your significant other addressed them? Do you make a list of questions and work your way through them over time?
