  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

They're turning away patients with deadlier medical emergencies (like a major stroke) even if they still have plenty of vacant ICU's, ER's (they have reserved these for Covid patients)

I have personally witnessed these first hand

Have they lost their minds or have I??

I feel like I woke up to a different planet

False. No hospital would turn someone away who had a stroke!

Unfortunately, I had to witness it.

I live outside of USA. The hospitals I saw are private because they're the only ones left with vacant ICUs, I guess they can make their own rules.

Those nationalized hospitals are totally full.

It's totally messed up.

I live in an area that has several major hospitals and they put a stop to all elective procedures at the beginning of the lockdowns. Since then, we've had very few cases (less than 30) in an area of about 80,000 people, and no deaths. 20 have recovered completely already. As a result, half of the hospital staff has been furloughed.
So much for the hospitals being "overwhelmed".

Meanwhile, we remain on lock-down for another month. :(

Sounds okay enough to me.

In our case, the private hospitals are "overwhelmed" with empty beds reserved for Covid patients that are yet to arrive, but turning away everybody else, unless they had covid. It's been like that for many weeks. Utterly stupid, I think.

"You cannot get admitted to the hospital unless you have Covid on the Forehead or on the Right Arm". Fascist garbage.

Many of the hospitals in California are canceling or rescheduling elective procedures. These are the profit center of nearly every hospital. And, since hospitals are dangerously low of proper PPE, only essential services are approved. Emergent services are always in place. There is an entire logistical side to the reason hospitals have empty beds which most people are quite unfamiliar with. These hospitals are loosing millions of dollars a month right now.
