• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

hey guys,

I feel so hopeless I've had thoughts about wanting to be God. Which is the worst possible thought because that what cause satan to be kicked out of heaven. I've had thoughts that I don't even want to be saved. I feel so depressed and hopeless. Jesus seems so far away and I don't know how to get through this. I'm questioning whether this is even ocd or if I'm just destined to go to hell

It's OCD, not you. It fills your mind with so much garbage and noise, and makes it seem like it's real. Don't listen to it.

Romans 8:38-39Living Bible (TLB)
38 For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels won’t, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God’s love away. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, 39 or where we are—high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean—nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us.

Do not believe those intrusive thoughts, they are just trying to upset you. Do not let them. If your thoughts were true, you would not be upset by them. These thoughts are not from your heart, they are not you. Next time this happens, praise God. Thank God for saving you, or praise God in your own way, sing if you like. Just try not to pay those intrusive thoughts any mind. God knows your heart and He is with us always.

Isaiah 41:10King James Version (KJV)

10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
