  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

psalm 16:9
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
--
Verses #(8–11), are quoted by St. Peter in his first sermon, after the pouring out of the Spirit on the day of Pentecost, Ac 2:25–31; he declared that David in them speaks concerning Christ, and particularly of his resurrection. And Christ being the Head of the body, the church, these verses may be applied to all Christians, guided and animated by the Spirit of Christ; and we may hence learn, that it is our wisdom and duty to set the Lord always before us. And if our eyes are ever toward God, our hearts and tongues may ever rejoice in him. Death destroys the hope of man, but not the hope of a real Christian. Christ's resurrection is an earnest of the believer's resurrection. In this world sorrow is our lot, but in heaven there is joy, a fulness of joy; our pleasures here are for a moment, but those at God's right hand are pleasures for evermore. Through this thy beloved Son, and our dear Saviour, thou wilt show us, O Lord, the path of life; thou wilt justify our souls now, and raise our bodies by thy power at the last day; when earthly sorrow shall end in heavenly joy, pain in everlasting happiness.
--
so often people focus on the pleasures of this world and they forget that they are only temporary. they seem to feel that for their service to Christ, He owes them a worldly pleasure in exchange. and when they don't get what they seek...they lose all hope. hope in christianity...hope in Christ. they have totally overlooked the fact that our reward that they so hoped for will come in the next life. when this one is over and we receive our crowns of life...then and only then will our wordly sorrow truly end and joy of heaven and eternity with our Father begin. that is the ultimate comfort in all of our hopes.

Hope is accompanied by God's love and peace that keeps us looking toward Him and heaven! And that helps me to count it all (even the sorrows and negative circumstances) for joy! For He loves me, He really loves me! Now, and Forever!

Psalms 4:7-8 (KJV) 7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. 8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
Thanks for all you share here.

Your sister in hope and in love,
