Amen! Someone recently said my soul in jeporday for believing what I do about homosexuals. My response: My sou'ls in jeporday because I'm not a hateful Christian?

The Theme of Christianity is Love, not hate. People are people, sin is sin, and Jesus is the savior of all.

Not sure you have the whole picture there. God is a hateful God when it comes to sin. He HATES sin. Someone that is not struggling and openly okay with being homosexual, in my opinon, can't be a christian.

I believe if a homosexual becomes Christian he will turn away from his homosexuality.

But the problem with that is, there are few Christians in this world who are going to accept homosexuals in their church fellowship and bible meetings.

I know GOD HATES sin. But I also know GOD LOVES people. That is why he sent us Jesus, to pay ranson for our SINS because he LOVES us.

How are we to expect homosexuals turn away from thier abominable sin, if we as Christians find it hard to share our testamonies with them, in an respectful and compassionate way? Now I know this isnt all Christians, but some.

It's sad, I think.

some of us--like me-- have areas of sin in our lives--I have two specific ones--that we will have to struggle with forever. So yes I think a gay person can be saved and still have to be on guard not to fall back into temptation again.

In response to the many objections of my statement, "There's no such thing as a saved homosexual".
In order to be a homosexual, IMO, you must be sexually active with a member of the same sex=homosexual.
A homosexual who becomes "saved" is no longer homosexual, & his sins are forgotten.
So there could be no such thing as a homosexual who has no intention of giving up homosexuality, but is saved.
A saved homosexual is a heterosexual.
If it makes you feel Christianlike to call me names, your mistaken.
A murderer can be forgiven & so can a homosexual & a liar. All these sinners should be able to come to church, but after a while, anyone in the church committing adultery should be approached by members, in love, with scripture, & it should be pointed out to them that they are sinning & to repent. If they do not repent, they would be asked to leave the church. (see Rev.2)
The point is to save the sinner, not condone their everlasting doom.
It would be hypocritical of the church to NOT ask the sinner to repent.
Romans 2:25-32 says that a homosexual is worthy of death.

I didn't call you a name! Debbie, sister in Christ.

I just felt offended when you said "There was no such hting as a saved homsexual."

How are you showing compassion and saving the homosexual by condemning them to hell before they have even joined the church. If I was a homosexual, and I was told that right away, before I was even Christian, I would think, "Man is Christianity a hateful religion."

I also believe Christians shouldn't jazz up their religion in order to convert people. But we should focus more on Love, Gods mercy, and compassion, rather than assumptious judgement.

I began enjoying Christainity, so much more when I realized that God was both my best friend and my savior. When my salvation began to be more focused on the relationship between me and Jesus rather than of fear, I began living more happily.

But I believe your right though, we should point out someone's sin, but not before they have entered into the church and recieved the Holy Ghost as their guide.

I hope I'm getting my point acrossed in a respectful but direct mannor. Sorry If i was rude before Debbie!

One of the finest Christians I ever met was a "saved homosexual." He still suffered with the temptations, but he did not act on his feelings, just like every one of us feels our temptations but struggle not to act on them.

He was celibate, just like all unmarried Christians must be, and offered two big contributions to our church: he was well-acquainted with the regeneration that relationship with Christ brings, and he knew his Bible like most of us know our own faces.

You can't judge a Christian by his struggles. You can only judge him by his fruit, and this man had FRUIT!

lambslove, I loved your post! I am unfortunate enough to know many more practicing hypocrites than practicing homosexuals. And Jesus seemed to disapprove of them more than anyone, so I try to leave my stones on the ground. I have enough struggles with my own sin, to be worrying about someone else's. And I certainly don't feel it is my place to sit in judgement of anyone else's salvation. I think if we as Christians would just show love, rather than condemnation, more UNSAVED people would see what Christ REALLY looks like. I don't know how it is profitable for me to say whether or not another's sin keeps them from being truly saved.......when I am not without sin.

I agree with Lamb's love that a homosexual can be saved & celibate & contribute greatly to the church. I don't think that was the original question though.
The theory that a homosexual can be saved while still being an active homosexual who is not sorry for his sins is ludicrous. MY church allows sinners of all types, but eventually they must repent or leave the church. It is not anyone's business to judge the salvation of any person, we cannot know what is in another's heart. If the origianl question was asking, "can an active homosexual who asks Christ into his heart , go to heaven without repenting, and continuing to commit homosexual acts?" THe answer is no.

I find it either arrogant or sad that you tell people to stop going to your church because they sin. Who are you to deicde if someone is worthy enough or not to have fellowship with God in church? And off-topic, how do you know if someone has, or hasn't repented of their sin. You walk the line of possibly abandoning (cause thats what you are doing) someone who has repented of their sin, yet you fail to believe it or accept that they have.

I also believe that there are very few, if any saved homosexuals who continue to be homosexual. If they are, then they are probably struggling BIG time with being gay, and and probably desire nothign more than to be released from the bondage of their sin. And in due time, those homosexuals, if allowed to contintue to go to church and not to be treated as outcasts, will eventually come to repentence.

P.S, repentence, depending on the sin, could take years.

I agree and I also don't think you can single out homosexuality from any other sin. I know when I became a Christian---and daily---I have to ask for mercy and forgiveness. I am not a homosexual, but I have other sins that are a constant DAILY struggle for me, much as I am sure homosexuality is for some. Does this mean I am not saved? No. It means I need Christ's sacrifice all the more. "in weakness His strenth is made perfect", right? I believe that if you go to the moment of salvation....when you ask forgiveness for your sins (any and all of them), if you are not truly sorry for them, and you do not truly desire to turn for them, then possibly you are not understanding what you are doing and what it means. But I refuse to believe that people are suddenly made sinless after salvation, if so Jesus died an unnecessary death. And I am ashamed to admit this, but I honestly believe when Jesus died on that cross for all the sins of all the people, at least half of them must have been mine. I have no idea why he loves any of us so much, but it makes me cry to think of it.

Amen! It's weird how some people believe they deserve salvation more than others! Or how some people believe that salvation is partly earned and partly given. Salvation is 100% given and 0% earned. We don't deserve salvation, but God loves us sooo much as to give it to anyone who so desires it.

You are reading into my posts more than I am writing.
I am not an elder. It is the elders of the church who ask the unrepented adulterer, fornicator, or homosexual to leave EVENTUALLY.
You know they havn't repented because they admit it.
YOu are missing this point: Many churches condone homosexuality, adultery, etc. Such as "disciples of Christ" no longer consider homosexuality a sin, & changed their creed.
What sin do you commit that is blatantly obvious to your fellow church members? None, I'm sure. I am referring to active homosexuals who desire to be permanently accepted in a church while continuing to be active homosexuals? If you want this to be your church's view, fine. I prefer not to be a member of such a church, which would make me a hypocrite, as we are dedicated to saving individuals from hell.
