• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

See, this is the kinda saccharine mixed with toxin that turns Christian Homosexuals, or struggling homosexuals into a downward spiral. So this is how you witness to them? By saying, don't worry we're just as BAD as you???

See, oh and I have seen Cameron's witnessing to GLBT people, this is pretty on the outside and sounds sweet and Christ-Like, but a simple peeling away and it is revealed as self righteous Pharisee-ism.

I love that you said that Homosexuality is no bigger sin than any other, you are blessed and Christian to see that while others are blinded, but I don't like the hidden messages in the fake empathy in preaching such as, but not limited, to kirk cameron.

Amen, brotha!

.... By the way, did Kirk Cameron witness to the "homo-sexuals" wearing a Speedo? Just a thought.....

Why do you blast and judge fellow believers like Kirk who are planting the seed? He doesnt force them to become believers on the spot. He tells of the free gift of salvation that Jesus gives and then tells them that he will be praying for them and asks them to think about the info that was presented.

Jesus tells us not to judge others, especially fellow believers who are spreading the gospel.

First of all the Bible does not say that homosexuality is an abomination. Gang rape, idol worshipping sex and temple prostitution are the topics that are the specific acts that the Bible is referring to but it never specifically condemns a same sex loving and committed relationship.

Second, the Bible does not say "Love the sinner Hate the sin". When we invite hate into our lives we destroy our spirits. It is also nearly impossible to hate what the way someone lives their life without hating the person.

Third. If you do decide to "witness" to him about his "sin" the best option for him would be to report you for harassment. The best option for the company would be in turn to terminate your employment.

You can believe whatever you want to believe; however, it is not true that the Bible does not say homosexuality is an abomination. It makes no distinction between same sex in "loving and committed relationship" as opposed to whatever other kinds of same sex there may be. You are free to believe whatever you want. You are free to believe the Bible or reject it, but it says what it says.

Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind (zakar-male or man), as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

It is true that the Bible does not say in so many words, "love the sinner; hate the sin." However, neither does the Bible say to love, excuse or condone any sin. The Bible does tell us to repent of sin.

Your comment about harassment and being fired demonstrates a great deal of animosity and (dare I say) hate on your part. Why is your own hate justified?

If you truely are filled with the Holy Spirit, when he talks to you - He WILL notice. The love of Jesus shines from your being, soul and your words.

Just treat them like a straight person that you'd like get to know and would like to bring to Christ.

I would suggest "NOT" showing him a Bible or quoting bible verses, that often just results in an "eye rolling" re-action.
Don't preach to them.
Telling them that God hates what him and his better half "Do" will not help.
All gay people I know - KNOW what most christians think of them, so If you start preaching, you WON'T win!

If you show them and prove that you're "Different to other Christians", they would be more likely to listen.

Talk about Church and how much you enjoy it

If you want to bring up their sexuality - ask them questions about it (even if it grosses you out a bit) - who knows, you might even learn something.

Hope that helps
