That's a little over top. That's like saying you believe the church is only for the white man, not to mention it's an apples to oranges comparison which I see no comparison.
Not at all.

Not popular but it is completely honest and accurate.

Ti is amazing how often racism is recycled to justify discrimination and personal prejudice against out gay and lesbian brothers and sisters.

Skin color and sexual activities or preferences are two quite different things.
If you would have bothered to read my post you would have noticed that racists don’t have issues with anyone’s skin color. Rather racists have issues with blacks defying God’s word and acting as social equals to whites
I can't just stand before the church and say I want 14 husbands at the same time because I love them all and you can't discriminate against me.
Yet apparently you think it is OK to go outside the church and deny minorities equal rights and equal protection under the law.
BTW…you might want to do some reading of the arguments Christians used to oppose interracial marriage.

Racism has nothing to do with one's belief that the homosexual act wrong. I oppose the homosexual act because is against God's creation not because I am racist against homosexuals.

Amen! Finally someone with some authority here to back up the TRUTH that racism and homosexuality are two entirely different things, and thus the same arguements don't hold water. Hopefully those who propogate the lie that racism and sexual preference are the same argument see the truth now. I won't be holding my breath.

That is actually another form of irrational prejudice called heterosexism.

How are they not basically the same argument? One can't choose their skin color. Most people can't choose their sexual orientation. Rights were denied to those of color, because it was perceived as wrong due to it not being the norm. Sexual orientations other than hetersexuality are now discriminated against, because it is not seen as the norm, and is therefore claimed to be wrong.

I don't see much distinction. Homophobia/discrimination against LGBT is the 21st Century version of segregation/discrimination of blacks by whites.

I don't see them as the same thing because:

Skin color: Inaction

Sexual Preference: Action
Sexual orientation (i.e. What sex one is attracted to), is not an action. It's no more controllable than skin color. I really don't think you, like so many of the anti-LGBT crowd, understand that orientation is not a verb.

Let me restate that:

Skin color: Complete inaction, unless you count face powder?

Sexual Orientation/Preferences: Require action, as all sexual activity requires action IF engaged in.

And please don't put me in a "crowd" of anything. You don't know me nor my heart.

Of course it is. Any attempt to claim it's different is just an attempt to blame the victims.

Yeah but here's the difference.....homosexuality is wrong. There's nothing wrong with being black. And though it can be very hard, it is a lot easier to change who you love than what race you are. It's impossible to change what race you are. Gays are deceived into thinking it's their nature. But with a lot of work and the power of God, it can be overcome, and therefore it can be changed.

Think the logic of your explanation through. It is even easier to change what church you worship at. So are you saying that its OK to deny people rights based on their religion? After all, if the point that makes the anti-gay arguments different from the racist ones is the possibility of change....

If you are gay, or have that orientation, you can choose not to engage in the act of sleeping with someone of your sex. A person of color cannot choose to change his/her skin color.

What's a gay person who chooses not to have sex? A celibate.

Dogbean--

Being "unequally yoked" with someone of a different religion is wrong in God's eyes. If the racist argument is wrong but the same argument becomes acceptable when used against gays, then because of the reason you give as to why the two cases are different, using that argument aginst other religions is even more acceptable.

More fundamental dogma. If there is a God there can only be one and therefore whoever worships God must be worshiping that one God.

Interesting the way the thread is moving as those without any real base try to argue that God just loves condemning people for some perceived infraction.

I have heard little of 'love' mentioned by those claiming the high moral ground.

If a person repents and stops sinning, God will forgive him/her

Galatians 5:24

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.

This applies, to stealing, adultery, homosexuality, idolatry, murder, hatred, any sin you can think of. Homosexuality is not a special category of sin, that merits a special way of dealing with it. God deals with all sin the same way.

That is the love that you do not hear, if you repent, God will forgive you and cleanse you of your sins. The thing is, if we cannot accept that what we are doing as sinful whether it be stealing, killing, or sexual immorality, then we cannot take the first step towards repentance, admitting that we are a sinner. If you cannot admit that you are a sinner, then you have no need of the Savior.

No it isn't.

Heterosexism is a term that applies to attitudes, bias, and discrimination in favor of opposite-sex sexuality and relationships. It can include the presumption that everyone is heterosexual or that opposite-sex attractions and relationships are the norm and therefore superior.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heterosexism

Nothing that I said resembles heterosexism. My belief is the biblical belief that the homosexual act is not part of God's creation.

Skin color and sexual orientation are entirely different issues. Those attempting to mate them as part of the same argument are only looking to disingenuously accuse of prejudice (bigotry) those that believe in the biblical teaching that the homosexual act is wrong. This fallacious dual argument also serves to add loaded emotion to attempt to gain approval in an issue that is so plainly unbiblical.

The bible plainly states that the homosexual act is not part of God's creation. No prejudice. Just plain biblical truth.

And people that think they are not sinners are deceived, because the only person who ever lived, is living, or will live who never sinned is Jesus Christ. That is why it took His death to save us. Even Christians sin, so we're no better than a homosexual lost in sin, deceived into thinking that homosexuality is condoned by God.
