I understand what you are saying Polycarp. I ask for mercy too. I'm not perfect.

But, while I can have compassion for homosexuals I can't say I agree with the liberal Anglican views nor do I know if a schism is going to come out of this or not? I'm trying to look at all angles and I think same sex unions is a secular concept, though many, many Christians I know don't even believe nor would vote for same sex unions let alone marriage. (I know this thread is not about marriage but that is still a truth where the "church" is leading.)

And I also think it's a misnomer to think that someone hates you because they disagree with you.

Definately true,

However I would say it is a fair assumption to assume someone hates you if they go out of their way to make your life more difficult, under mine your personal relationships and generally do their best to make you unhappy whether personally or politically.

Life is not about happiness;

It's about growing in Grace and the knowledge of our Saviour.
Being made conformable even unto His death.

More difficult=More reliance on the Holy Spirit.

Life consists of The Lord building up our characters, making us fit for Heaven

Oh, I just wanted to state for the record here that there are not only Christians who may disagree with same sex unions or marriage, I know a lot of secular people who don't read the Bible who are not only against same sex marriage but same sex unions too, so don't think Christians are the only ones voting on this issue.

While you may think there are no secular people voting against same sex marriage or unions, you'd be wrong, because I know them. When I ask them for a reason they just say "because it's weird" or something worse. Some secular people can be quite more cruel than any of us would like to know. Mean, ugly, nasty. Just real creeps. So please don't put all your misery on the Christian church which DOES NOT want a schism. We are to talk to each other with regard and dignity when we have a dispute or a disagreement within the church and "prove" and "test" all things before each other. I think there is a scripture for that?

Im well aware many secular indivuals may be against same-sex unions, too. I can never really understand why, but im certainly aware. Living in a country that has same-sex unions and in general has a general acceptance of homosexuality (at least in a lot of areas) I find it fairly depressing to see how things are currently in the US.

Anyone can be cruel really, it's just part of fallen humanity.

A Schism would be sad but I certainly see one in the Anglican church to be fairly inevitable. It just seems that the two sides in the argument are running away from each other in opposite directions as far as possible. I dont think a schism is a good thing, but how is it to be avoided? (a genuine question!)

It was never my intent to make you unhappy. And truthfully, I have no power to do such, for I am not your 'maker'. The only reason possibly perceived as to why someone would think Scripture is harming them, is that they are convicted of sin.

I do not doubt that you are indeed a Christian, but I do stand in doubt of whether your mind is being renewed.

Let me say at this point, that it was never my intent to cause you to suffer ANY hardship, but rather, that you would turn to God and find your TRUE identity in Christ Jesus

Your signature says; BE YOURSELF!

Well, God has a NEW self for each one of us as we learn to deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Him [in denying the flesh].

Philippians 3:21
Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

We can both be filled with all the fullness of God in Christ Jesus, as we take our eyes off ourselves, and turn in faith to Christ Jesus.

Have you been taught any of this before?

1 Peter 4:12-13
12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

James 1:3
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

Genesis 4:7
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Acts 10:34-35

34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Jesus is the Righteousness from God!

Romans 1:17
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

ever ready to forgive and to love those who stand against him.
But, they must repent, and turn to Him, otherwise they will have their share with those who burn in the Lake of Fire forever and ever!!!

Tell us what you know of receiving the image of God, the end being the Salvation of your soul, since you know so much!

hates his brother
I do not hate my brother! Why would you imply such a thing?
Because I said we aught to recieve the image of God in Christ Jesus? Becuase I quoted Scripture which says we aught to reckon ourselves dead to sin and alive to God?!? I want you to show me where I said, or even implied such a thing! Or else recant your judgment! I HATE SIN, NOT THE SINNER!

Colossians 2:16-19
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

It's not my place to judge. But it is my place to defend those they attack, and it is my place to warn. He who has ears, let him hear.
I am not judging a person, so it seems you have misconstruded my speach.. This is public justice! For if it was not rebuked here that we are not to walk after a FALLEN image, not receiving the image God has for us in His son, then so goes holiness, without which no one will see the Lord!!!

And it is not our place to defend, for the Lord God, HE is mighty to save.

Psalm 1:1
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

It is our place to warn, according to the buffetting of the Holy Spirit, however.

Anyone who thinks that he can go on in sin after receiving the knowledge of the Truth, being conformed to the image of Christ, NOT HOLDING THE HEAD, has another thing comin, as Scripture CLEARLY indicates.

Romans 6:1-16
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Romans 13:11-14
11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. 14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Yeah, I know. Some people are just really nasty. I'm a survivor of sexual abuse so there is real cruelty in the world.

As far as a schism in the Anglican church, well that does and doesn't concern me. It doesn't concern me because I am a non-denominational, so I can take no sides nor do I care to have a say in the Anglican churches.

However, you need to understand that non-denominationals are loosely Baptist and that we do stand on the word of God and we believe that the word is our bread that feeds us and helps us grow, and we believe in The Nicene Creed.

So, this is sad if it happens, but you also need to realize that you cannot vote in the USA and you need to let go a little bit and let another country be it's country. America is not the U.K. nor the other way around.

Indeed - and that rock does not condemn homosexuals.
No condemnation.

Romans 8:1 ASV
There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.

But rebuke of sin, indeed

For if someone is standing on a false identity, that identity will come crumbling down when Jesus cames again.

Revelation 7:17
for the Lamb that is in the midst of the throne shall be their shepherd, and shall guide them unto fountains of waters of life: and God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Do we really want to be ashamed at His coming?

Aught we not rather to receive the image of God in Christ Jesus than to go about recreating ourselves?

A person with a differing capacity to love is not necessarily failing to "receive the image of God".

romans 1.26 ....unnatural affection....

..........your choice.....your life.....your future....your peace of mind......
just don't ask society to validate your choice at others expense....

The concept that sexual orientation is somehow a "choice" is merely a method by which one can denigrate those who are different. When did you 'choose' to be heterosexual?

...you need to understand that non-denominationals are loosely Baptist and that we do stand on the word of God and we believe that the word is our bread that feeds us and helps us grow, and we believe in The Nicene Creed.

Traditionally Baptists have eschewed creeds. Many believe all the items in the Nicene creed, but demanding adherence to the political correctness of it is not traditionally a Baptist position. That may have changed in some instances. In 1960, when John Kennedy was elected President, Baptists in general opposed him due to their concern about his Catholicism and awareness that in Europe and Latin America, Catholics often advocated an entanglement between church and state. While traditionally Baptists opposed such entanglements, one hardly ever hears anything at all about it anymore except in areas of Catholic dominance from a Baptist minority as we find in far South Texas. Baptist leaders such as Richard Land today advocate much more church-state entanglement than the Catholics of Kennedy's day did in their wildest dreams.
