  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Homeless getting new lease on life.

All across the state, men and women who have spent years on the streets finally have what they’ve always wanted.

A house key.

Part of an innovative national trend in homeless care, the “housing first” models are taking the chronically homeless out of the shelter system by offering permanent housing in a group setting where access to medical, mental health and substance services are never far away.

that is fantastic! I have been priviliged with a wonderful home all of my life, although once threatened to be made homeless when I was unwell.

People, such as my brother, believe that the homeless got themselves into that situation, due to drugs and theft, so deserve to be on the streets.

I think that that is awlful, as even if someone has drug problems it does not mean that they are bad people; everyone deserves a chance, a home, and help for their problems. In the new year I plan to do voluntary work with the homeless and the elderly.
