Does anyone here home school? I am going to home school my 3 kids next year and was wondering if anyone could point me to some good info on it? We have decided that the risks involved in public school is to great and can't afford to send 3 to private school.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The net is filled w/ info, and ppl to talk to-it can actually be overwhelming! How old are your children! I pulled my older two out about a yr and a half ago. We've since moved and post schools are a bit better and I'm thinking about(praying) sending them back. I may still hs my oldest for personal reasons, just waiting on the Lord
Congrats! If you feel strongly God calling you to HS, don't let anyone cause you to doubt. There are many anti hs'ers out there that think we are just trying to "shelter" etc, and will voice their opinion to try and make you doubt! I'm just warning you ahead of time b/c I think all hs parents have faced this attitude at one time or another!

check with the school district that your children would attend. they may provide resources. I know the district I teach in does.

We are going to start homeschooling my second grade son in a few weeks and I am excited. This is a huge God thing because a year ago I never could have imagined this.

I would start with www.hslda.org . They have alot of information on alot of different aspects of homeschooling, as well as the laws in your state.
