Has anyone seen "Home Run"? I am going tomorrow to the city on my day off because our local theatre didn't get it. My church has really been promoting it because we have a Celebrate Recovery program.

My friend and I both thought it was really good. She doesn't even go to church and liked it. My church is one of a few churches in N.S. with a CR program so I had been hearing about it over the past few months.

My husband and I did see Home Run back in May when this thread was started but just saw this thread so here a bit late. Just saying that we both appreciated the content and thought it was fairly well acted. We are both ACA (Adult Children of Alcoholics) and did so understand how it is to grow up in such an atmosphere. Some people who suggested this to us thought there should have been more directing witnessing about Jesus and the Gospel (preaching, I would think); but we thought it was very real and the message was clear even when not explicit. It was all about the love and mercy and healing given by God to those with this problem as they admit their powerlessness and surrender to Him.

Wonderful movie, we saw it at our Saturday night Celebrate Recovery meeting a few weeks ago. Although my buddy told me it was about CR, I really didn't belive it would be, thinking CR would be too much of a turn-off for most audiences, but it really is all about CR!!! Amazing!

My church showed it on Sunday night and Raymond went with me (he's not a Christian-pray about that, he doesn't go to church), and then afterwards since my church has CR they talked about CR! A lot of people went!
