  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Are you living with family currently, roomies, friends, or living by yourself?

How do you feel about your current living situation? Would you change it if you could?

Does living with others drive you crazy or does it help ease the single life? If you're living alone, are you more content or does it make you long for company more?

Disclaimer: Some people don't have choices over their living situations so please refrain from blanketed judgmental remarks about others. This thread is for talking about your situation and how you feel about it.

Living with my family.

I feel alright with it. I would like dad to stop being nosy at times.

I've lived with roommates before, and they drove me crazy. They were disgusting, and had strange passive-aggressive cat fights with each other. I would like to move out one day after saving up and buying a house of my own, but I never want to live with more than 2 roommates again.

I live with my parents and love it. My siblings and I are all very close to our parents and each other, so besides the normal, minor issues that arise here and there...we get along perfectly fine. I'm content.

I live alone. It has its advantages and disadvantages. Living alone is very peaceful, but can also be very lonely at times. But I don't have to deal with other people's drama llamas and can focus on my goals. I'm also the "queen of the castle" so to speak so I get to do everything on my schedule, like cleaning and cooking. Before I lived alone, I lived with my family so I had do go by their schedule and they were around me all the time - including any drama that came up. So living alone is quite different, but independence feels good at the end of the day.

With family and I don't mind it.

Housing is incredibly expensive here in the UK, so it's not that easy to get on the property ladder unless you want to rent (I will never rent), so will be here until I get a mortgage and move out. It's not all that uncommon here though.

I currently live with my Dad, which is not a comfortable situation. To be fair, it is less volatile than it used to be, but my Dad and I do not get along in many ways. Thankfully, I will be moving out of the house and into an apartment for myself by the beginning of next year.

Normally I enjoy having people around, but I am really looking forward to having my own place, where I can get away from the general population and be with myself for a while. I like to be with people, but--being an introvert--I enjoy coming home and relaxing in solitude.

Voted other. With my SO in a flat with flatmates. There are four rooms and there are four of us. Last year there were five of us but when the term ended everyone but T and I moved out. We now rent two of the rooms and the landlord found two Chinese girls to live in the other two rooms for the summer.

Neither of us like living with them. They're inconsiderate and leave lights on all of the time for no reason. They waste electricity and smell up the kitchen when they boil seaweed or god know what else.

I would prefer to live in a flat with just the two of us or live alone. Or even a flat with friends would be nicer. You could actually communicate with them when stuff needs to be done. I have no idea how these girls even got into uni. They don't speak any English. I thought you needed a certain level of English to get a student visa to study here. It's ridiculous.

Looking forward to moving down to her parents in a few weeks. Then a month later I'll be back in America and live with my mom until I get a job and can get a place of my own. I honestly can't wait to be settled.

Probably cheated to get in, which is apparently common nowadays.

I live with my family and I love it; my parents and I are very close friends. My sister and her daughter recently moved back in, and there's definitely some friction with her, but my niece is nothing less than a delight.

No. Oscar the Grouch is literally one of the best little puppet characters ever created. ...He's like...my role model.

I live with my parents and I'm trying to be content.

I love my parents, but being 27 years old and having lived out of the house for five years moving back home was difficult. I'm hoping that I'll have moved back east and started the next phase of life in the next six months so that helps me cope a little bit.

I'm currently living with roommates and I'm trying to be content. The house is nice and it would be difficult to find a better one where I live, plus if I lived alone I could totally see myself becoming an anti-social hermit since my work requires very little human contact, so personal contact is important for me. It was great at first. We had pool parties, barbecues, and had a great time, but in the last year two guys who moved in kind of crashed the scene, and we're still trying to get one of them out.
