We have recently started a home church in the country town I live in in Australia.
Does anyone else here have a Home Church where followers of Jesus gather, pray together, study and praise?
Bevlina, you are so fortunate and blessed to be able to start a home church. One day, when there's more than just me, WE may start one too. lol!

I don't, but I would love to have one not because I am uncomfortable with organized churches. I am actually very comfortable in any setting where I can worship with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, but I would like to start one because there are so many foreigners who have no place to worship here so I would like to offer something to them. Unfortunately, most foreigners don't have much interest in God where I live. I have made several attempts at getting people interested in coming together and worshipping but there are so few Christians here it is difficult, but my idea does not die.

I do and have been for over 2 years. Our pastor left the denominational system after he got fed up with organized church politics & deceit. We have an average of 4 -5 people attending. He's taking a break now though for some personal reasons, so I'm churchless.... except for CF :)

Acts 2:36, And day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house, they partook of their food and exhultation and simplicity of heart.

There is no question that to meet in the homes is the New Testament way. We meet in a regular manner in small groups. It is by meeting in small groups that everyone will function and take part in the meetings, thus eliminating the clergy laity system, thus building up each one part of the body.

Hi Bevlina,

I am on my own at home with Bible study and worship since I don't have a good church I can get to but if I could, I would start a home church fellow ship. Unfortunately most of the people I know locally attend either a Catholic Church, Synagogue or no church at all; the few denominational churches all compromise the gospel with new age teachings and other things I don't feel comfortable with, so I stopped going to any organized religious denomination and now seek fellow ship here with others like myself. My husband is not a believer and neither is my family so I am a church of one right now trying to stay in God's Word. Sorry I can't offer any helpful information on how to start one but I wanted to offer you my well wishes and prayers for undertaking this!

God bless,

I have found Mythbuster's remarks to be very much in line with my own beliefs on more than one occasion. So Mythbuster, keep it up. As for me and my house we also gather together with a small group regularly for the same. I am the Involvement and Counseling Minsiter at my church and see my calling primarily as an equipping minister ala Ephesians 4. With other like minded Christians I set up a small group ministry within our congregation. It has been a marvelous growth tool (both spiritually and physically). No doubt it reflects the true meaning of church.
