Well this statue in particular is quite unique, it's called Our Lady of Hope, I don't know much about it but apparently it was made by Columbian widows who want peace in their country. I got this statue both simply because it sparked my interest, being a statue of Our Lady pregnant, and because I did my Marian Entrustment on the Feast of the Visitation and so I figured it would be appropriate to get a statue of Our Lady pregnant. (And much to my delight, the statue arrived right on the day of the Visitation.)One thing I am curious about, is it common for statues of Mary to have so much hair showing?
In regards to images of Our Lady showing her hair, it varies sightly but most images just have Our Lady showing a bit of hair around her head. There are however exceptions to this, including images of Our Lady where her hair isn't covered at all, such as Our Lady of the Green Scapular and Our Lady Undoer of Knots.
