im starting to get curious about the Holy Spirit, to understand more fully how the Holy Spirit changed from the old testament to the new.

here are some questions / comments. any of you out there help me out?

1) in the old testament, ive found the term "Spirit of God" used instead of "Holy Spirit". perhaps not in every case, im not sure, but something worth mentioning.

2) in the new testament, it says that those with the Holy Spirit are saved, those without are not.

3) in the old testament, sometimes Spirit of God left people.

4) it seems in the old testament, the Spirit of God came upon people and sometimes left people, in the new testament after pentecost, the Holy Spirit indwells all believers, never to leave them.

5) what exactly changes from the old testament to the new testament?

6) the Holy Spirit was promised in the new testament to "Christians". i remember it saying something like, "when the Holy Spirit comes...", but the Spirit of God had come to people in the old testament.

please post clear and organized responses, with relevent accompaning Bible verses. links to online writings, like webpages, are welcome as well. and, try to keep responses short and to the point. ;)

much Christian love,
