Johnah Goldberg of the National Review has a good nationally sydicated column today. Historically acting was considered to be a power level occupation but now the opposite is true. Hollywood seems to have a lot of political muscle. You can't watch an awards show without everyone pushing their liberal agenda. He thinks this is happening because people have abandoned religion and humans seems to have a primal need to have it so they have replaced it with secular Hollywood. This makes a lot of sense to me. Are we replacing God with celebrities? I'm not.....But Goldberg makes a point that many others are.

I would see stage performers on occasion in my office. We were occupational health providers for our local theater company. Actors can be kinda weird people. Remember who murdered Abe Lincoln.

Al Franken notwithstanding, more of the show business people I can recall who have actually entered politics have been Republicans, and at least somewhat conservative or moderate:

Clint Eastwood
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Shirley Temple
Sonny Bono
Fred Thompson

Hollywood has been deliberately anti-Christian since at least the 1970s with
the production of movies denying the divinity and truth of Jesus.
He married Mary Magdalene and had children, and the usual plots arising along
these lines. It didn't just start with Tom Hanks.

Scientology is a popular alternative to true Christian faith in Hollywood.
And subsequently Humanism and Marxism and so on.
Jews still very much rule Hollywood and they still do not believe in Jesus.

Worldly fame, celebrity status, worldly treasures, the beautiful people crowd,
just about the entire list of worldly sins are upheld and valued by Hollywood.

Then there are all the sexual sins movies that oppose the teachings and righteousness
of Jesus and the gospel.
This started in the 1960s with movies promoting sex outside of marriage, and equating
sex with love and divorce was OK. Divorcees were desirable and allowed for adultery to
be the basis of romantic 'comedies.'
Harvey Weinstein is only a symptom of a sick and corrupt culture; and he is not
alone in his depravities.
Paedophilia and child exploitation needs to be called out as well.

IMO, the culture in the United States, tends to obsess over any type of celebrity, whether they be a Hollywood type, on television or a professional athlete.

Sounds plausible. Actors and actresses seem to act like they're gods and they find a willing amount of people who treat them as such.

That's very informative and I recognized the truth in it. Everything that is vile is worshipped in Hollywood. I don't know how much worse this country can get. President Trump is trying hard to bring the country right and all these vulgar Hollywood people are attacking him. We need to pray for the country because satan is causing all these terrible things. I watched an interrogation video of an 18 year old MS-13 gang member who stabbed a 14 year old girl to death. She was dead cold - soulless - in the interview. When asked if she was bothered by stabbing the girl to death she looked annoyed and then shook her head no. Satan has control of some people and he's working through them.

It is the constant promotion of guns and violence that underwrites
the economy of Hollywood.
From John Wayne to Liam Neeson to Matt Damon....
If liberals and lefties are so anti-gun and anti-violence why do
they produce a popular culture of revenge and killing people in
graphic detail - lots of blood; lots of splatter.

Hypocrisy reigns as usual in left-wing politics.
