Ya gotz to bathe in the blood of the Lamb
1 Corinthians 6:11 And these some ye were. But ye are washed/apelousasqe <628> (5668), but ye are hallowed, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and in the Spirit of the God of us.
Revelation 7:14 And I have said to Him "lord of me, Thou hast known".
And He said to me "these are the ones coming out of the tribulation, the great and they wash/eplunan <4150> (5656) the robes of them, and they whiten them in the blood of the Lamb".
Which verse is that. Neither of LLoJ verses said such.I don't disagree. We are washed clean in the blood. And having these promises let us cleanse our selves of all filthiness of the flesh and spirit. I notice it doesn't say allow yourselves to be cleansed, it says let us cleanse ourselves.

To a point I agree with you here. My problem is deciding what you mean by love. Does love have anything to do with being offensive? Maybe in some cases. I think it depends on ths circumstances.Filthiness of flesh and spirit is anything that is not walking in love and holiness i presume. All i know is i pray and try and i love Jesus.
But I thought the problem with man to begin with is that he couldn't cleanse himself-that's why Jesus came.I don't disagree. We are washed clean in the blood. And having these promises let us cleanse our selves of all filthiness of the flesh and spirit. I notice it doesn't say allow yourselves to be cleansed, it says let us cleanse ourselves.
Nice quote and it applies.I think this scripture helps define holiness
1Th 4:1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
6 That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
Hmmm! holiness has already been used in 2 disticnt ways so far in the thread. Here it is used as consecration, purification. It has also been used as majesty.Rom_6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness
Righteousness unto Holiness it says. So it seems righteousness is not just what Jesus declares us, but it also seems to be what God calls us to walk in, in action not just words.
But I thought the problem with man to begin with is that he couldn't cleanse himself-that's why Jesus came.
Yes in the sense of consecration and purification. Does this differ from righteousness? I ask because the law doesn't apply to the righteous I Tim 1:9.Heb_12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
It says follow holiness, it suggest taking action.
To what are you referring?
That would be a different verse. Care to give or do I need to look for my self? It is your argument not mine. I didn't say any thing about agreement, yet.(snicker, snicker I do but need you to provide the verse)I was referring to this verse. I was just adding to it.
1 Corinthians 6:11 And these some ye were. But ye are washed/apelousasqe <628> (5668), but ye are hallowed, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and in the Spirit of the God of us.
We are justified but also called to cleanse ourselves of all that is not holy.
But I thought the problem with man to begin with is that he couldn't cleanse himself-that's why Jesus came.
Well I can tell you what it doesn't mean, It doesn't mean that we should live like the rest of the world, doing what the rest of the world is doing, in all the sinful lustful ways its culture is going2Co_7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God
Please explain to me what this verse means. And how we obey it. Thanks.
Yeah they're the same thing (Luke 1:75; Eph. 4:24).What is it?
I ask because some seem to say holiness and righteosuness aren't the same thing.
No one will see God without holiness and yet righteousness is discussed in Scripture to imply holiness? I think there is more than one meaning of holiness or being holy. What do you think?
I think there is only one meaning torighteousness.
Yes in the sense of consecration and purification. Does this differ from righteousness? I ask because the law doesn't apply to the righteous I Tim 1:9.
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still:
and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still:
and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still:
and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
(Revelation 22:11)
Holy in context of the book of Revelation means those who overcome .
