  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

holiness?

Many priests and nuns will ramble on what is holiness? They don't know smack about holiness, with their comfortable living--having a roof over their heads, 3 meals a day. They often tend towards virtues when preaching holiness. This religion has been hijacked by cardinals and bishops and popes--rich men if I ever seen them, with their endless supplies of church wealth. I do have to hand it to them--they do know where holiness exists, in poverty.
You want to know what is really holy? The man who spends his life in a lake of fire; and it is a lake of fire as a man is forced into solitude and eventually homelessness. Like they say, a man must walk through fire to be saved. What does that mean? I would take it it would mean a lifetime of misfortune and scorn. Never making ends meet.
The priest and the nun have it lucky. They sit on the border of comfort and sorrow. At least a priest has someone to talk to. The poor righteous man has not a soul to confide in. It is the poor man who will shine in the day of his end. While the rest of you wallow in your self-pity, wondering why does this poor man have such a beautiful soul and I don't. I bare witness of the poor and their mishaps. Laugh and play now swine, because we will dine and feast in your misery when the end comes.

Can you define holiness? Because we have to know what our terms mean before we can talk about them. What does holiness mean such that the only way to get it is to be tormented? Does holiness mean having the worst, most unenviable life conceivable? Is God holy?

The Church may be wealthy but the individuals are not. You're crazy if you think a preist is rich.

Is that why Abraham and Job were rich and holy at the same time?

How do the poor necessarily have beautiful souls? Lots of poor people are plenty evil.

Why are you posting on the internet and not in a cave in Syria? Shouldn't you be sitting on a pillar in Egypt or something and not in front of fancy machines?

Think you're really righteous? Think you're pure in heart? Well I know I'm a million times as humble as thou art. said:

You have a beautiful soul alright. The Desert Fathers would be proud. I'm soo jealous. How can I have such a bitter and wasted soul too?
