  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello fellow believers,

I recently bought a camera and would like to take up photography. Does anyone have suggestions of things to take pictures of?

When I bought my camera, I was planning on taking pictures of my pet rabbit, "Bunny Foo-Foo". Sadly, he passed last week.

I'd deeply appreciate any helpful hints! :yum:
Photos of children are always fun to look at. Is your camera digital, because then you can store all your pictures on your computer. They usually have a special folder called "My Photos".

To help with your next rabbit you poor thing.

Top Tips - It's a bug's life: understanding the bacteria in the rabbit gut
Rabbit's guts are teeming with bugs - the entire functioning of their digestive system relies on a healthy population ("flora") of beneficial bacteria in the hind gut . If the delicate bacterial population becomes unbalanced, and "bad bugs" multiply out of control, serious or even fatal diarrhoea can occur. This can occur if the rabbit is stressed or otherwise unwell; after some antibiotics; or especially after changes in the diet.
This is why you should never change your rabbit's diet suddenly - the bacteria need time to adapt to different foods. Take at least a week to switch between different brands of mix/pellets. Constant access to hay cushions dietary changes, but the fatal tummy upsets so common in bunnies purchased from pet shops are a grim reminder of the importance of going slowly when changing foods. Baby rabbits just can't handle sudden changes in diet just as their gut bacterial population is becoming established after weaning; and pet shop bunnies often undergo two changes of diet in quick succession
Feed manufacturers are starting to respond to the challenge of keeping the gut flora healthy. Profeed is a product which supports beneficial gut bacteria by providing them with a substrate they can easily utilise - a "friendly bug food"! It's added to many rabbit foods abroad, but only recently become popular in rabbit foods in the UK, although Burgess incorporate it into Excel, their complementary extruded rabbit food, several years ago.
Probiotics, in contrast, are basically "friendly bugs" designed to be fed to bunnies whose gut flora is in jeopardy, for example during illness or antibiotics therapy. However, getting the bugs to survive transit through the highly acidic stomach is quite a challenge! The traditional bunny probiotic was live yoghurt, but feeding dairy produce to a herbivore isn't a great idea. The latest commercial probiotics are much more sophisticated, contain a more logical species of bacteria in a form that is claimed to resist stomach acid.
But the best probiotic for a poorly bunny? Caecotrophs from a healthy bun. Yep, someone else's poop. Gross but effective!
